伯恩賽德飯店(Burnside Hotel)

My wife and I stayed in Rm 24 on Saturday 27th April We were looking forward to an overnight stay in a renowned 4 star hotel and arrived at 4pm as requested on the check-in details. A very kind gentleman on the front desk showed me to the room and I headed off to town for a 4.30 meal before a great night at the theatre. On our return we sat briefly in the saddle bar and enjoyed a leisurely pint before heading to our rooms at about midnight. On arrival our room and the bathroom were uncomfortably hot and the AC unit and control were flashing. We initially laughed as we hopped around on the very hot bathroom floor before going to bed. Sleeping quickly became a real challenge so I opened first the side windows then the patio doors and we managed fitful at best sleep from then on. Whilst I imagine this episode is far from common, I feel that if we had been given guidance on the use of the AC (we could not find any literature) on entering the room, the fault would have been apparent and resolved before our return to the hotel. As 4 star accommodation this experience was especially disappointing and the responses to our complaints were equally disappointing: We complained on checking out to the lady behind the desk. Apart from suggesting we should have contacted the overnight help she was again disappointingly unhelpful. On sending the above details to the hotel I received a very dismissive email and no attempt to acknowledge responsibility.

This hotel is the cleanest and most immaculate one we have ever stayed in in our 55 years of marriage. We have travelled extensively over the years. It looks as immaculate today as when it was refurbished seven years ago. The stay are pleasant, helpful and curtious . The menu has a good choice for breakfast and dinner. The food is delivered hot and tastes very good.

The hotel was ideally situated for visiting Stratford-upon-Avon. A short drive to the Park and Ride and a 10 minute bus ride to the centre of the town. It is a 30 minute walk to the town but our arthritic knees wouldn't allow it!! Anne Hathaway's cottage is just a five minute walk away from the hotel. The hotel was spotless, the staff very friendly and accommodating. The food (we were on bed, breakfast and evening meal board) was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice. Bed very comfortable, tea and coffee making facilities and TV in the room. Couldn't fault the hotel, the staff or the food. I would definitely recommend the Burnside Hotel to anyone who wants to visit Stratford-upon-Avon.

If you are visiting Stratford on Avon and want a quiet 'family run', boutique hotel with good parking and away from the tourist crowds then this the place for you. The hotel is well presented and although the public rooms are quite small, overall it has a 'Mediterranean' feel and has some nice touches. The restaurant menu has an 'east meets west' feel about it, and I enjoyed most of the dishes I tried over a 3 night stay, although the lamb shank with risotto rice didn't work for me. Most of the dishes seem to be freshly prepared and which makes a nice change - the service as a result can be quite slow. A 3 course dinner for 2 with a couple of glasses of wine will set you back about £100.

Excellent small hotel. Lovely and quiet and very well positioned for Stratford on Avon sights and attractions . Reception lady Minty so helpful in suggesting a cycle route for us and places to eat or refresh on the way. The hotel has a lovely calm feel and is relaxing, everything is so quiet and it is spotlessly clean and well run with tasteful decor throughout. The Cask and Tandoori pub in the grounds also offers super evening popular pub meals as an alternative to hotel dining and is quite lively. We would most definitely come back.

All round great stay. Very good room, excellent service and meals. Lovely rural area and near to Stratford Near to Shottery village and Hathaway`s Cottage Friendly welcome , smart and comfortable reception bar and restaurant Hotel very well run, relaxing and generous rooms with good furnishing and interior design

Awesome place to stay, Spotless rooms and great food. The most attentive, thoughtful and friendly staff you’ll ever meet. Easy 25 minute walk into the centre of Stratford saves on the hassle of parking. Will definitely stay here again when next in the area

Great 2 night stay at the Burnside Hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated throughout. We saw deer in the woods just opposite our bedroom window. Lovely restaurant and all staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location, just a 35 minute walk into Stratford which avoids all the hassle of driving into town any finding a parking space. We look forward to visiting again in the future

My wife and I visited Stratford on Avon for two nights her birthday and had booked an evening at the RSC (which was brilliant) . I booked the Burnside hotel as it caught my eye for both being different to the run of the mill hotels and also for value. We found that it had the feel of a family hotel and were impressed by the contemporary, yet chic decor and ambience of the hotel. It is situated in a quiet area just away from the main parts of Stratford and very handy for Anne Hathaway's cottage which is in the vicinity. NT gardens (Hidcote and Snowshill) and also visited the steam railway at Broadway. Overall we took home really good impressions of the hotel, its friendly staff and pleasant ambience. We would go again. Thanks
