Port Lympne Mansion Hotel

5/5 brilliant stay, the staff were very pleasant especially one waitress in the garden room, Emma she told us all about the history port lympne and also some about the area, very quizzed up definitely deserves a pay rise in my opinion, definitely worth going to see and i will be back again in the summer. 👍

My hubby and I booked a night in the hotel with my brother and SIL, which included a buggy and Safari. We have stayed before at Hog Deer Creek but as it was winter, we thought we'd opt for the hotel. We arrived in the middle of Storm Henk but this did not dampen things at all and we all had a fantastic time. The room was really comfortable (T E Lawrence) with tea and coffee facilities and very cosy and warm. The hotel itself was beautiful and the bar was a nice relaxing area with a good variety of drinks and snacks. We had dinner at Babydolls and this was also spot on. Friendly staff and great food! Breakfast was included in the Garden Room and again, this was tasty, hot and plentiful. We had the privilege of going on the Giraffe feeding safari and the ranger, Alex, made this a highlight of our stay. He was so knowledgeable, fun and you could really tell that he loved his job! This was a fantastic experience for us all and we will be booking again and doing a two-night stay next time!

BEYOND EXPECTATION & OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Booked Lion & Tiger lodges for a 2 night stay. Both lodges are stunning, with views out onto the lion & tiger enclosures. The Lion lodge had high ceilings with the 2nd bedroom on a mezzanine level & large garden with a fire pit overlooking the main hotel from above - both lodges were decorated to a high standard & interior were as you would expect a “lodge” to look like. Roaring real fires in both, outside baths, complimentary fizz & snacks & a personal golf buggy. ALL Staff were attentive & enthusiastic - they clearly loved working at Port Lympne. I highly recommend staying here - will definitely go back.

I found it poor that we had to first go to customer services and then over to the house to be booked in, surely this could be in one place. My Wife who is disabled wished to use the toilet, but the Ladies is up some steps and the disabled is in the Garden Room, (when wishing to use these on the second day, we found the Doors locked, even though told they would always be open) So on both times my Wife had to use the Gents. (Note: the right hand one is loose, not bolted to the floor). We were told the Tree House was ready, but found it was still being cleaned! The outside lights did not work, nor is there a light down the side of the house. Very poor as an Accessible house and also a gap in the fence for steps. The room was very hot and the cooling fan remote did not work. The T.V did not work, I found this was due to only one battery in the remote. In trying to contact the office, found the phone was unplugged but still did not work, again very poor as this is an Accessible house. Called the office from my phone, a maintenance man came out, but only brought AAA not AA batteries. On returning along with Chloe, fixed the T.V and confirmed the other remote, lights and phone did not work. Chloe, kindly left her torch with us, and the back lights were fixed. I would also like to point out, that some of the areas should be looked at and made disabled/wheelchair friendly, and wouldn't take much to do. When I was at the Baboon scatter feed, the rails on the centre section are to low, and i very nearly fell backwards, when food was passed across me. The Dinner was fine, except they did not know about the booking package, and the cocktail drink was not supplied. told no voucher no drink. Breakfast was just a very bad experience,The table was not laid out, service was very slow and poor as if we were an inconvenience. We had to ask for knives, forks and side plates. Tomato sauce took so long we had already eaten. Asked for bread and butter twice, Toast was slow and cold even the second batch was cold. On leaving we were asked to pay, we advised we had a package and this was part of it, told it would be charged to the room and to take it up with customer services! We did so and advised that the package was new? but we booked on 04.09.2023? And system was not updated. All the above was relaid to Concierge / Customer Service's at the time, and on their Review e-mail, We have yet to receive ANY feed back from the Management Team.

We had an amazing stay at this resort in June. Upon arrival, you are given a golf buggy and shown to your accommodation within the park. We stayed in a wigwam in leopard creek. There are currently only two of these and they look out with over the park with a stunning view (although note that they DONT overlook the leopard enclosure, which is immediately behind the wigwam). The name ‘leopard creek’ is still relevant though because you, along with a handful of other cabins, are the only ones who really access this area and can sit by the enclosure looking for the two leopards in pure peace. The whole park on our visit on a Monday in mid June was joyfully quiet. With your golf buggy, you have the freedom to drive around the park stopping at any of the enclosures at any time you wish - it really is complete freedom to see whatever animals you want and whilst the park is very large, with your own buggy it is as stress free as seeing safari animals can ever be! The wigwams are very nicely done, they have a high-end style and the facilities are akin to a high-end hotel (other than that there is no form of room service, so take with you whatever you want in your room such as drinks etc). Breakfast is served in a garden room near the hotel - a c.10 min drive in your buggy from the wigwam - this is again very nicely designed and the service and food here was excellent. A pretty faultless experience.

We had the privilege of doing the safari tour today 12/12/2023 and although the weather didn't quite get the memo, we were fortunate to be paired with Will who was our ranger/tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable with a fantastic sense of humour. It was a fabulous way to spend my daughter's birthday & we shall be back in the summer. You won't regret going.

Awful! The place can't decide whether its a hotel or zoo. We were gratefully given a discount because there were no safari’s left for the day - Quite disappointing really but not the end of the world. We were given a map, shown the routes available and told it would take around 3 hours to complete. We were not told how incredibly steep and uneven it was and even though we asked for an adult with 1 carer ticket, we were not asked if we had any mobility requirements nor were we offered any support from 1 of the many golf buggies that were being wizzed round by staff. I can only assume that it’s because we are a young couple and do not routinely use mobility aids or have a mobility aid with us so unconscious bias is likely to play its part. Whilst enclosures seem well sized, we couldn’t see the animals so hard to say whether they were proportionate or not. Plenty of vegetation but overgrown rather than appropriately placed. Almost as if they’ve picked a spot and put some fencing round it and thought ta-da that’ll do! The fencing isn’t fantastic either, you don’t know whether you’re looking for animals or experiencing an optical illusion. We regrettably had some lunch whilst there - £24 for 2 jacket potato’s no bigger than a chip with beans that were mushy and dry and cheese, a bottle of coke zero and a bottle of raspberry juice. Daylight robbery comes to mind. In short, if you fancy an intense workout whilst questioning whether you need an appoin**ent at specsavers for your eyesight… This is the place for you!

We stayed for our mini moon in the treetop bubble. The accommodation was lovely (albeit slightly noisy being situated by a main road) and the site itself was great. Lots of wonderful gardens, buildings, walks etc to explore. Both the inclusive safari and ranger safari were excellent. However, the staff on site in the restaurants etc leave a lot to be desired. We were delayed checking in by 40-60mins due to an issue with the buggy, as a gesture of goodwill they offered us double welcome drinks and assured us we could have them the next day (we didn’t have time on arrival due to the delay and the delay with check in). This seems not to have been communicated to the clubhouse where the drinks are available so there was more fuss getting this resolved. On arriving for our drinks we were told there were no zero alcohol options but that they would source some from the other bar for the next day. The staff member the next day knew nothing about this. We ended up not having our welcome drinks …. You’d think they would have just offered us to have the drinks at the fully catered bar where they have zero alcohol options for non drinkers?! On cleaning and restocking our accommodation they missed the loo roll and we had to call for more. Two mornings we had breakfast delivered to our accommodation, both times they missed marking the gluten free option so we had to call to identify it. They left the hamper from the first morning for the duration of our stay, no instructions on where to return it and the staff didn’t remove it on cleaning. Not great considering it had food left in it/dirty dishes etc. In the bear lodge restaurant there was again refusal to make zero alcohol gin and tonic even though they have the gin for use in cocktails. Also confusion over gluten free offerings. Whilst these seem like minor issues, considering the amount we stayed to pay here we would have expected better service. I do have to give a shout out to the young man who checked us in (unfortunately didn’t get his name) and to Kyer who served us in the garden room restaurant as their service was impeccable and a breath of fresh air compared to others!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit for my husband’s 70th birthday, I booked it as a suprise for him and we both had a whale of a time. The golf buggy is a fantastic idea, being able to go out on it at any time was was wonderful, especially when the park was closed. We ate in The garden room for breakfast both mornings and one evening meal, beautifully cooked food and lovely polite staff, we also ate at Babydoll, the food and staff were great there too.. we will most definitely return!!
