This used to be a great venue, what’s happened. ? Have been here many times but the last two have been disappointing. I complained about a cold bedroom last time and subsequently did not receive a review invitation. This time I kept my mouth shut. It was the Thursday and Friday heat wave . We were a party of four oldies meeting in the lounge for drinks before dinner. No air conditioning .. it was sweltering.. I asked for gin & tonic. ….. out of ice out of lemon the barman told me as , for some reason best known to himself he poured all the tonic into my glass. Sweating profusely we eventually entered the adjoining dining room which was super cold air conditioned … ouch ! We ordered four main courses …….. three were unavailable but my leek and potato soup was lovely. However my risotto was rather poor and one of my friends wasn’t happy with her enforced second choice. My wife was happy with hers, but she’s a lousy cook and will eat anything. “ war time childhood “. The staff seemed unhappy in their jobs and with each other. There was also an impressive school prom taking place … maybe they got the ice ? There was another one scheduled for the following night. The once lovely Parkway seems to be taking on more than it can cope with and its staff and and return residents will no doubt be voting with their feet. Yours sadly , George Wrigley
