Check in: 1st room was view of parking lot and construction equipment; 2nd room we were just starting unpacking and they came and said we could only stay there one night because it was promised to someone else after that; 3rd room was great. Great patio w great view No bathrobes so requested; no wash cloths two days—had to ask for; 1st morning we requested they clean room when we left at 10 am. They said they’d get someone right up—Came back at 2 and still not clean. Finally someone came at 3 pm Our reservation stated “brand new dining concepts”—didn’t exist: Breakfast and dinner were in the conference room . Menu was same for lunch and dinner and very limited. Our last night, we were going to eat there and menu was even more limited--ended up going out for dinner. Not sure where the “bar/lounge” mentioned in literature was unless it’s one by pool.--yes, there's a bar but certainly not what anyone would call a loung. Wanted to go to 1st floor restaurant (this is actually the pool bar). Someone took us there by elevator but then had to go through the kitchen. Wanted to go to pool—had to go through kitchen. There was no elevator available to take you directly to pool or restaurant.. My husband has difficulty walking after ankle surgery. He cannot climb steps. We received notice that there were things not completed No mention that there is no elevator access to first floor to get to restaurant/bar/pool Lots of construction noise at 7:30 in morning even though they said they would do “quieter” work in early hours . Toilet wouldn’t flush first day No grab bar or seat/foot shelf in shower Banging coming from bathroom—recorded—one night. Had to call down twice before it stopped—this was at 6;30-7 at night Have to pay to have microwave in room—motel 6 would have a microwave Patio flooded one morning after short rain Very few directions on how to reach restaurants, pool No entertainment as previous visits Staff certainly tried to accommodate and were very pleasant
Jay & Blake was the best and most informative persons helping decide what to eat and knowledgeable in the menu which helped everyone decide what to eat which was amazing. Excellent service & food was amazing . Jay Recommended the Ribeye steak plate which was delicious.
Great stay in a very nice and safe area in Scottsdale! Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Old town Scottsdale is full of unique art and galleries. We walked the entire area at night with no safety concerns. Would definetly stay at this hotel again.
Second year in a row I stayed here. Totally wonderful place. The grounds are immaculate, the landscaping gorgeous, the restaurant excellent, and all the staff welcoming and friendly. Also like the gym, how you can easily from the premises hike Pinnacle Peak, Like any 5 star resort you pay the price...and here you get what you pay for.
Nice modern, quiet property. We moved here after a bad experience in the Old Town area of Scottsdale and although a ways away from the shopping and dining areas of central Scottsdale, it offers a quiet, comfortable stay. Only downside during this stay is almost every food item wasn’t available - apparently they are changing the menu. Not really acceptable because there are no other restaurants nearby without driving. We wanted a light dinner without leaving the hotel. Plenty of on street parking if you don’t want to pay for parking.
I visited the Fairmont Princess in consideration of a conference booking. The hotel was stunning. I was there just before Thanksgiving so I used the word magical as the resort was certainly bitten by the Holiday Spirit. WOW. I highly recommend a visit during this time. We were able to view all the room types from Fairmont rooms to Gold to the Privado Villas. ALL room categories were exceptional and newly renovated. Very nice size as well. The service was top notch...what you would expect from a 5 star resort. ....and the BEDS!!! <3 <3 <3
DDermot. CMany positives and a few negative depending on how you look at it.
First off, all at the reception desk we're very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and spotless clean. The surrounding area has a lot of offer as it's right next to a beautiful river and the ASU campus. The only real negative about the hotel is that it might not suit a light sleeper as it's beside the freeway. The breakfast was tasty but could do with some more options.
Actually I was very impressed with the area. I came to Arizona for the 2024 Mesa Marathon and will definitely return again and probably use this hotel again.
TTanya HThe breakfast was so fresh and delicious! The scrambled eggs were wonderful (not from a powdered mix) and there was yummy homemade coffee cake. The staff working the breakfast room were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. What a great start to the day! We were VERY impressed.
Nnahaly2016I recently stayed at this hotel while in town to give a keynote at a conference, and I hadn’t even looked it up beforehand due to a whirlwind of back-to-back travel. My flight to Phoenix was delayed, so I arrived at the hotel at 1 a.m., completely drained. But the moment I stepped out of the cab, everything changed. The entrance alone was captivating, and the lobby, with its stunning artwork, instantly revived my spirit. I knew right then that I would be extending my stay—and I did, that very night. The service here is truly something special—genuine, thoughtful, and attentive. Every detail of the hotel feels intentional and welcoming, from the perfectly placed hammocks to the soothing sound of waterfalls that create the most relaxing ambiance. The hotel is filled with cozy little hideaways, perfect for unwinding, and the décor feels like a warm, stylish home away from home. The most remarkable touch? The artwork throughout the hotel is created by the owner, Rose. It adds such a personal, intimate layer to the experience, knowing that the same person running this exceptional business is also shaping its look and feel. I ended up extending my stay by three days, completely captivated by this magical place. The only downside? You might not want to leave the hotel to explore Phoenix! I can’t recommend this gem enough.
