維德馬爾飯店(Hotel Verdemar)

Uno de los mejores hoteles en los que he estado en Asturias. Ubicación excelente, el personal muy atento y tanto las instalaciones como nuestra habitación muy bonitas. Destacar también el desayuno, muy variado, fresco y a muy bien precio. Sin duda repetiré!

Torticeros. Por Covid dos días antes (tenemos 60 años) se les propone aplazar reserva a fechas posteriores (pagando diferencia correspondiente). Se atienen a la cláusula y cobran la totalidad de la reserva con total falta de empatía y comprensión. Resumo: Cobrar a cambio de nada. Encima nos marearon echando balones fuera... impresentables absolutos.

Hotel muy cuidado y limpio, en una zona muy tranquila y en segunda línea de playa, cerca de todo. Lo menos positivo para nosotros ha sido el precio, para una sola noche nos ha parecido un poco elevado.

Comodidad, la amabilidad del personal y lo cerca que está de la playa.

I stayed for 4 nights in August 2023. Booked via *********** at a very good rate for a seaside location (we also checked on the hotel's own website simultaneously and it was basically the same price). Location is fantastic - 30 seconds from the front door to the beach where there is a lovely promenade to walk along or the beach to relax on. It's also only a 10 minute walk across the bridge to the main part of the town with shops and restaurants, but on this side of the bridge there is still a supermarket (Dia) as well as a bakery and ice cream shop. Staff were always friendly and accommodated the fact I can't speak Spanish. There is a side door which you get a key to enabling you to easily access the building when reception is closed which is helpful. When booking it seemed to indicate breakfast wasn't available, but it was. I didn't actually have any as I brought my own (and there is a very nice bakery a couple of streets away, Nerian Salon de te - you can sit in or takeaway). Room was a good size - I was on the top floor and could just about see the sea from my skylight. Ensuite bathroom also a good size - towels and complimentary shampoo & shower gel included. The wifi worked well enough for me - I was able to Whatsapp call, watch youtube videos etc without issue. Lift was a little noisy when in action but once asleep didn't bother me. Lights turn off in the corridors after a time but there are light switches outside the bedroom doors so you can easily turn them on to get the key in your door! No air conditioning (that I could work out) and I was there in one of the heatwaves so it did get fairly warm but I had a travel fan with me and kept the skylight open so was fine. I didn't actually enquire about fans - maybe they could have provided one, I don't know. TV in the room had a very wide variety of channels, almost all in Spanish but for Brits like me it was nice to watch a bit of BBC News from time to time. I was particularly impressed with the cleaners - barely noticed them but they worked around when we weren't in the room which for me was quite random as I was in and out to the beach/town quite a lot, coming back to escape the sun! I just popped the 'do not disturb' sign on the door when I was in, and they cleaned when I wasn't. As I have friends who live in the town, it's quite possible I may return, and if so I am likely to look to stay here again. Checkout was 9am-12pm but they said there were arrangements that could be made if I wanted to checkout earlier. Only little ****** was when checking out they tried charging me for a breakfast (which I never had) but the moment I said I never had any, they said that was fine and there must have been a confusion, so there wasn't any negativity around that.

Clean, spacious rooms. We were there a bit out of season, so the cafe was closed. Slow internet and warm water a bit cold is the reason for not giving a full score.

Nice place in a nice location, but the most expensive night of my trip so far. Nothing special, for the price, but the bathtub was nice and the first I’ve had in Spain. Small basic room.

Aunque es un hotel de *** debe mantener unos servicios mínimos. No es de recibo que tengas que salir a desayunar fuera porque la cafetería esté cerrada. No tiene recepción permanente, entregándote una llave para acceder al hotel después de las 23:00 horas. Y eso sí, pagando por adelantado la estancia (126 €), nada más llegar al hotel. En recepción, ni siquiera tienen el detalle de disponer de información turística de la zona de Ribadesella, remitiéndote a la oficina de información para hacer una cala interminable. En resumen, un hotel deficiente donde no volveremos.
