瓜亞沃飯店(Guayabo Lodge)

A Santa Cruz, la chambre du Guayabo Lodge n'avait ni climatisation ni isolation. Pire, de simples grillages séparaient de la chambre voisine et on entendait distinctement tout ce qui se passait à côté. Odeurs de moisi, chambre très vieillotte, literie très moyenne. Certaines personnes du groupe n'ont pas dormi à cause des ronflements des voisins !

Hay que tener mucho cuidado con la calle a la entrada del hotel, mucha piedra y una nos rajó la llanta. El servicio es excelente, a las instalaciones les falta algo de mantenimiento y cuidado a lis detalles. Mi cuarto tenía un microhondas, refri, lavadero,coffe maker y algunos utensilios básicos pero no hay toallas de papel o un limpión, tampoco una esponja o jabón de platos, la refri estaba apagada por lo que al regresar al cuarto teníamos un gran charco de agua del hielo que puse en el congelador. El entorno es muy lindo, jardines preciosos.

Hôtel d’étape avec le minimum de confort. Le Wifi est très aléatoire comme la douche. Je me suis retrouvé un avec un filet d’eau et j’ai dû attendre que l’eau revienne. Les groupes ne sont pas bien gérés. Nous nous sommes retrouvés à déjeuner dehors car des personnes d’un groupe avait décidés de prendre notre table.

Super hôtel d étape, jardin magnifique avec vue superbe. Belle et confortable chambre. Repas (entrée, plat, dessert pour 23$) ou à la carte choix entre 2 plats, 2 entrées et 2 desserts. J ai adoré cet endroit.

Fréquenté par les groupes, ce lodge présente une réception, et un restaurant démesurément grand, et par ailleurs très peu convivial. Le jardin est magnique, vue sur le Turrialba (même s'il était partiellement dans les nuages), et nombreux oiseaux. Une terrasse pour prendre le frais. Le trail menant à la cascade est partiellement fermé, et à présent en manque d'entretien. On entend effectivement pas la route, mais par contre lorsque le client du dessus prend sa douche, le niveau sonore est très haut. Le resto est correct (ils font un prix à max 20 USD si vous prenez les 3 plats). Le wifi est signalé partout mais est très capricieux. On a pas eu envie de s'attarder plus là-bas. Trop tristounet ! Arrêtez vous par contre chez des vendeurs de fromage, sur la route du Turrialba, et poussez une pointe jusqu'au village "La Central" qui organise des visites sur les flancs du volcan le we uniquement.

Such and amazing place. Comfortable and beautiful with an incredible garden. Fantastic views from the room. Great hospitality. I was only here a few nights but already want to return. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant and everything was great.

I stayed here for three nights in March of 2024 and couldn't have been happier. The food and service were top shelf, the gardens were lush and full of tropical flowers and unique birds. The panoramic views were incredible, and it was nestled at the foot of an active volcano. It's close to the town of Turrialba and other interesting sites.

Nice hotel in an area of Costa Rica not overrun with tourists. The grounds are lovely and the views are beautiful. No real amenities to speak of, though. Breakfast is a basic buffet and was ok. Dinner, though, was very good, albeit expensive. The issue is that if you don’t have a car, there is really nowhere within walking distance to eat, so you are stuck eating here and paying the price. Our room was nice enough. Fairly spacious although a bit dated. Some upgrades are needed to modernize the space. As noted naive, you are far from town, so you need a car to see or do anything. All in all, a decent stay for a couple of nights.
