"Nice hotel outside the city (would not want to stay in city). We stayed for one night before rafting the Pacuare. Rooms are ok, no air conditioning. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel. Food is fantastic, served in an open air pavilion. They were accommodating with one member of our party that is gluten free. They have a nice pool and hot tub but we didn’t use it as it was raining the day we stayed. Staff is friendly and plenty of on site parking."

"3 nights in a historic coffee Hacienda in beautiful countryside. We would thoroughly recommend the Turrialba hills and specifically La Esperanza as an alternative to some of the more popular destinations. The location, house and gardens are lovely and service excellent. The coffee estate is a special place and we enjoyed coffee cherry picking, coffee tour and tasting, horse back ride and swim in a nearby waterfall as well as a white water raft on the Pacuare river. An extra day would be worthwhile to visit the nearby volcano."

"It is too close to the street, traffic noice prevented me from falling asleep. It is old so very few electrical outlets in the room, nowhere to plug our laptops. Their restaurant is really bad. My beef was over-salted and fish was like rubber."
