Never ever ever again…
I recently booked two nights for &350 to attend the Packwood flea market, but i only stayed one night (in room 203). A very, very low pitch repetitive thumping noise (exactly 60-thumps per minute) began at around 1:15 in the morning, and it continued for then next four plus hours, ending with a sudden loud ‘click’ (sounding like when a circuit broker gets thrown in the washroom).
Sequentially, over a sleepless night, i had put on the A/C-heater, then the bathroom fan and finally a white noise app on my phone (eventually, all three at once) to try to drown out the thumping), but all to no avail.
The thumping resumed around 7:30 AM after which i called reception. The pleasant young man who then attended advised me that he could not hear the thumping cu( but he also acknowledged to me that his hearing had been impaired over the years by constant exposure to loud equipment).
I removed my gear from the room around 8:30AM; and, as i departed, reception advised that they had never before heard of such a problem.
After the sleepless night, i found that focus and enjoyment of the flea market was seriously impaired, so i left Packwood at 11:00AM
This hotel gets one star because zero stars is not an option. If you like hours of deep low thumping sounds, and if you are a fan of sleepless nights, then Crest Trail Lodge’s room 203 wiuld be the right place for you
