DO NOT BOOK WITH URBAN CHIC. We had a booking, the day before they informed us that we had been moved to a different property. We had purposely booked a place with a lift as one of the people in our party had really bad knees and stairs were tough. This new place had a lot of stairs. To make things worse, at 1:45am, a party of 5 people tried to enter the flat - they were also relocated to the same place. We contacted the property manager, were told (in writing) we would get a refund and had to go through *******. When I contacted *******, they contacted to property and the refund was not granted (even though we have it in writing). Save yourself the hassle. Don't book a Urban chic property.

I have booked a stay in these so called serviced apartments through *********** for three days. Tonight, just 12 hours before the flight I received an email from the property giving me another address for stay and the email says that I should contact 911 in UK in case of emergencies. As I understand the emergency contact numbers are 999 and 111. So very strange. I will be updating this review with more details.

My friends and I recently booked an apartment with Urban Chic in early May, through *******. We were assigned to the apartment at 167 Bonchurch in Portobello. Check in was easy. The space and the location were quite good. However, there was a major problem that we attempted to rectify from the first evening of our stay. THERE WAS NO HOT WATER!!! Upon arrival, we noticed there was no hot water. We called the Urban Chic emergency phone number and were told they could not help us and we should call the office in the morning. We called the next morning and were told that a maintenance person from Urban Chic would come by and attempt to solve the problem. The maintenance man, arrived and tried to figure out what was wrong. He was unable to solve the water problem. He did however, note some of the other issues we had with the apartment, such as no labeling on thermostats, broken foot plate under the dishwasher, dishwasher hinges not working properly, lack the of hooks for hanging towels or toilet paper etc. We were told that building management would be called to repair the problem. However, there seemed to be no follow through by Urban Chic. When I called Urban Chic to check on the situation, I was told that your company had no control over building management. Needless to say, the problem was never fixed. I emailed Urban Chic three times since our stay and have yet to get any response.

The apartment size, location and walkability were great. However it was fairly obvious that no one had done an inspection prior to our visit. Communication and follow through were TERRIBLE. We had a major problem that was never resolved. We had NO HOT WATER for the four days we were there. We attempted to get the problem fixed but were ultimately told that Urban Chic has no control over the operations of the building we were in. On the third day we were given the option to move to another location but no offer was made to assist us with the move. I wrote emails to the company and have not received any response in almost three weeks. I have requested some compensation but again, no response.
