What a fabulous little retreat ! really easy to find and off the A1 yet peaceful surroundings , the food is really good , the beer /wine choice is excellent and the staff cant do enough for you !! would be going back often !

A gem of a pub with rooms. We booked for a family birthday and had the most relaxing time in beautiful surroundings. The rooms were all lovely, welcoming, warm and well designed. The pub itself was superb - well kept Guinness and beer, fab wines, lovely food and a great atmosphere. We felt incredibly welcomed and enjoyed dinner on both nights. The owners and staff really couldn’t do enough for us. A few of the group had special dietary need (vegetarian and gluten free) and the team couldn’t have done more to cater for them - we were so impressed. A hidden gem, worth a drive and we’ll be back!

Just been to the Dovecote inn this afternoon for Lunch. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the owner was very welcoming. For anybody wanting proper home cooked food this pub is a little gem. Thank you for everything today, we will be returning again very shortly.

We a (group of 6 friends) enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch. Food delicious and plentiful, hot and well presented. Staff very very friendly and efficient. Sam was in attendance and made us all feel very welcome. Nice to see a few well behaved pooches. We will certainly return. Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Dovecote Inn on Saturday 17th September 2022 with by mother and father in law for a special occasion. I was apprehensive as, whilst I hadn't previously visited the Inn, my in-laws had a few years ago and were extremely disappointed with their visit. I was aware that the Inn was now under new management, it was close to where my relatives live and we had heard good things since Sam Harrison took over as landlord. We were not disappointed, in fact, we were delighted and couldn't have had a better experience. The food quality was superb (fish and chips, chicken and mushroom pie and chicken schnitzel were our choices) The table was in a lovely part of the Inn and Sam's personal service touch was superb. We stopped off in Laxton to see the fascinating church (which is opened every day) and find out about the ancient field system. The pub was very welcoming and quickly served us the most delicious fish and chips with mushy peas. Our dog was made welcome too. We thoroughly recommend a visit to this delightful village and it’s excellent pub.

We had a meal celebrating my grandsons second birthday . We were made very welcome in a lovely dining room by efficient, friendly staff . The meal was delicious with beef cooked perfectly ,a good helping of fresh vegetable and a fantastic Yorkshire pudding

Booked this lunch to celebrate our grandsons 2nd birthday so were a party of seven plus birthday boy. Everything was very good. Friendly,helpful staff and delicious food. Pub was very busy but service didn’t seem to be affected at all. Will return soon.

Visited again with a few mates. Bad first: very high priced drinks-I work in London. Inexperienced staff-the landlord wasn’t well,fair enough but when you’re charging London prices you need a maitre d or a boss. £36 for a fillet steak. Good points: not ce pub n a lovely location. Too expensive though but not bad food. Won’t visit again as although ok not worth the price or the inexperienced staff. Sorry
