Um dos melhores hotéis onde já estive, pela beleza do espaço, conforto, natureza e propósito! Excelente atendimento e um projecto exemplar de sustentabilidade e conexão com ambiente envolvente e cultura de Sumba. Uma escola de hotelaria que é um hotel! Parabéns e obrigada!!

Zeer vriendelijk (lerend) personeel in een mooi hotel. En je steunt de stichting die het mogelijk maakt voor jeugdige Sumbanezen uit hun armoede te ontsnappen door een goede opleiding. Stel je open en je krijgt er heel veel voor terug! Eten is van een goede chefkok, uitzonderljk om dat te mogen eten. Elke dag een feest! Ook de SPA ervaring raden wij van harte aan.

Un service hôtelier excellent aux mains d’étudiants animés d’un réel sens du service, d’une empathie et d’un professionnalisme exceptionnels. Une formidable expérience, humaine autant qu’hôtelière. À ne pas manquer, ne serait-ce que pour soutenir un beau projet véritablement inclusif.

Ein Resort, in dem junge Menschen aus Sumba für ihre Jobs in Gastronomie und Hotelerie ausgebildet werden. Wenn du als Gast in diese freundlich lächelnden, stets wissbegierigen jungen Gesichter blickst, geht dir das Herz auf! Die Küche ist auch hervorragend, dazu gibt es fair ausgrepreisten Wein, Bier oder Cocktails. Wir hatten ein wunderbares Zimmer am Pool. Das Einzige, was noch zu verbessern wäre: der Weisswein zum Essen sollte stets gut gekühlt serviert werden. In unserem Zimmer (7) funktionierte die Air Condition nicht so recht powervoll. Und apropos Power: meine Masseurin im Spa hatte etwas Probleme, die gewünschte Power bei meiner Balinesischen Massage zu liefern (auch nach Rückfrage). Vielleicht sollte man da ein wenig bei der Einteilung der Spa Mitarbeiter_innen darauf achten, dass eher stattliche Gäste wie ich nicht gerade eine Mitarbeiter_in zugeteilt bekommen, die noch eher Muskelkraft mitbringt. Aber ansonsten war alles perfekt in dieser wunderbaren und nachhaltigen Einrichtung!

Dit hotel is een magische plek! Je komt terecht in een lokaal hotel met respect voor de cultuur en natuur. Mooie kamers, helemaal uit bamboe! Ook de spa, het zwembad en het restaurant zijn pico bello! Het eten is ook enorm kwaliteitsvol en lekker! Daarnaast word je verwend door een team van zeer gemotiveerde studenten van de Sumba Hospitality Foundation die bezig zijn aan hun opleiding in de hospitality industry. Ze leren de kneejes van het vak terwijl ze jou een onvergetelijke tijd bezorgen. Altijd met een glimlach! Ik zal deze plek nooit vergeten!

Superb experience to stay at Maringi Sumba and simultaneously supporting such the wonderful Sumba Hospitality Foundation. The caring service and the quality of food served was outstanding. Need to also highlight the first class spa services.

This is a beautiful hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. The hotel is beautifully designed and the rooms although simple are very comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and a real joy to walk around. The food is delicious. The hotel is ran by hospitality students, who are the real stars of the show. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, and very hard working. They absolutely spoiled our kids with love and attention. What a beautiful project.

This was our second time in Maringi. We love the idea of staying in a training hotel and helping nurture young talents. Seeing the motivation and positive attitudes of these young people were truly inspiring and made us return. However, second time wasn’t like the first time. Service was still excellent but food was a bit lacking. Two years ago we were served local vegetables and dishes. This time round there were a lot of raw carrots and some nappa cabbages. Apparently the school's vegetable garden wasn’t running due to low season. But there are young fern tips, pumpkin shoots, cassava leaves, kangkong in the market! I understand that the school is located in a dense greenery but I think a bit of mosquito control strategies need to be employed. There was mosquito incense and net at night but that barely helped. After 4 nights I got a bit tired of my itchiness. I would really like to continue my support to the school as I love seeing the enthusiastic students. But I don’t know… I am a bit conflicted.
