Good colonial style rooms. Good for those looking for peace and quiet

Ubicado en lo alto de una colina tiene una magnífica vista panorámica de Madurai. Nos alojamos dos noches en una suite en un primer piso sobre la piscina, muy cerca del spa ( muy buen servicio). El jardín es un sueño, caminar a desayunar rodeado de pavos reales y ardillas. Muy bien la habitación, el baño, el servicio amable y bien dispuesto. Encantador el espacio desayunador con plena vista a la ciudad. Pedimos cena en el cuarto y estuvo muy bien.

L'hôtel est situé sur une colline privée à l'écart de la ville. Il vous faudra compter au moins 20 minutes en tuk tuk pour vous rendre au Menakshi Temple. Malgré situation au calme j'ai été durant mon séjour dérangé entre 5h et 7h30 par une musique assourdissante non stop venant d'un temple voisin. Dommage car l'hôtel "old style" a beaucoup de charme. Ma chambre, une colonial room" était très spacieuse et bien équipée. Belle piscine, très bon restaurant et spa excellent. Ce qui rend vraiment le séjour au Gateway remarquable c'est la gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel et de son deputy manager Kamesh N.

Wir waren wiederholt in diesem Hotel und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Die Zimmer sind groß, gut ausgestattet und sauber. Das Personal ist sehr nett und freundlich. Besonders nett und kompetent wurden wir an der Rezeption von Pandian betreut. Jedoch waren alle Mitarbeiter*innen total zuvorkommend.

這家旅館真是令人失望至極。我們到的時候發現房間還沒準備好，所以他們讓我們坐在餐廳裡，等著我們點餐。他們花了很長時間才給我們兩個人送來茶和咖啡，不知道是不是因為我們沒有點餐。餐廳非常乾淨整潔，所以沒什麼好挑剔的，但服務太慢了，讓人無法忍受。所有員工都非常樂於助人，態度也很好，所以沒什麼好挑剔的。然而，我們的房間品質不太好。空調讓房間散發出一股霉味，很難聞。窗戶被塗上了油漆，所以既看不到外面，也打不開。我們最後不得不把門大開著，想讓房間通風。水從我們房間入口外的燈具裡湧出來，必須指出的是，外面並沒有下雨。如果不仔細觀察，我個人覺得房間在美觀度上還可以忍受。說實話，飯店的其他部分和庭院簡直糟透了。骯髒、無人照顧、極度破敗，這些字都值得用誠實的語言來形容。我們坐在餐廳外面喝了一杯，因為下午3點我們被告知只有這裡可以去，但這裡根本不能放鬆。椅子髒得要命，環境也很糟糕。餐廳樓上正在施工，噪音持續不斷，而且很大。我們居然有一隻孔雀飛過來和我們一起，真是個驚喜。我們房間裡的迷你吧裡有一罐湯力水、一瓶蘇打水和一塊三角巧克力。不過，這裡的飲料價格貴得離譜，是我們印度旅行期間住過的所有飯店裡最貴的。食物還可以接受，但不如我們旅行中住過的其他酒店那麼令人愉快。我們還會再來這裡嗎？或許不會很難過，因為這裡的建築和庭院絕對令人驚嘆，但這次真的大失所望。照片說明了一切。

L’hôtel présente l’avantage d’être très en hauteur par rapport à la ville sur la colline Pasumalai. La terrasse du restaurant surplombe cette ville. Le vue est magnifique et l’endroit est donc, généralement, très calme. L’hôtel est constitué d’un immeuble central où se trouve le restaurant. Les chambres sont réparties dans la très vaste propriété. Il en est de même pour la piscine extérieure. Les chambres sont vastes, modernes et fort bien équipées. L’hôtel est très haut de gamme avec des prestations en regard. L’hôtel propose des soins ayurvédiques mais il est préférable de les réserver bien en avance. Côté restaurant, les buffets du petit-déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner sont excellents. Il est difficile de faire beaucoup mieux. Le petit-déjeuner et le déjeuner peuvent se prendre en extérieur avec vue sur la ville. Nous l’avons fait aussi le soir mais il y avait des moustiques et, de manière surprenante, des travaux bruyants à l’étage. J’avoue que cela m’a laissé un peu perplexe. Notons que l’hôtel est fortement sécurisé comme c’est le cas quasi partout en Inde.

Wunderschöne Oase inmitten der Stadt. Wenn *** im Pool unter grünen Bäumen seine Runden zieht, sind Lärm und Trubel ganz weit weg. Die Gartenanlage ist toll, mit vielen Bougainvillen und alten Bäumen. Der Blick auf die Stadt: Phänomenal!

I had booked two colonial rooms for 3nights at gateway Taj Madurai. I was pleasantly surprisedon my arrival to see not only staff but also greeted by peacocks. Trust me never seen so many peacocks fearlessly roaming around in the entire place. Very huge resort amidst the nature. It is on pasumalai. Hills. Mr. Sahu chef was very helpful and friendly person. Housekeeping manager Mr.manas was also cheerful and pleasant person. Mr. Das a. Trainee in the resort was helpful. r

The warmth of the mangers is unprecedented and unparalleled. Special mention of Mr. Ashok Mr. Noor Mr. Eashwar all ably led by Mr. Srivastava. Managers extend beyond the call of duty and the Tajness spirit of service is very evident. A must include in any travel in the state of TN.

“An excellent resort with welcoming staff, set on a beautifully preserved colonial heritage property. The highlight of our stay was the spacious rooms and the delightful sight of numerous peacocks roaming the property. The food was outstanding, and the overall experience was exceptional. We received exemplary service from Eashwar, Pandian, and Gowthami, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We will definitely return!”

Very smooth check in and check out process, room cleanliness is highly impressive, very testy food with moderate amount of spices feels like homemade food. Ambience is fantastic. Overall stay is very comfortable. And about the staff, they are very friendly, polite and helpful in all aspects. They make our stay very comfortable and it forces us to me to come next time to enjoy hospitality of Taj MADURAI.

Rooms are wonderful and the outside view is superb.Very spacious and worth teh stay.The breakfast spread was extremely gud and worth the hospitality.I prefer my next stay here itself during my visit again.Thks for the wonderful hospitality.My son prefers to stay here

We stayed at The Gateway Hotel, Madurai from 24th to 26th September and had an amazing experience. Special thanks to Pandian, the manager, who ensured everything was perfect throughout our stay with his kindness and constant attention. Munnusway enriched our mornings with his brilliant knowledge of the plants during our morning walks. Karthik was efficient in replenishing our room essentials, always prompt and courteous. Special shoutout to Subhas in the kitchen for the delicious meals and Harish for his great service during the night shift. The staff’s dedication made our stay truly memorable!
