Amazing spot right off the highway, very private

First of all, I wish I would have found this hotel earlier in our trip here. I would not have minded driving further to where we needed to be to stay in the room we had longer. Checking in, the front desk staff was very welcoming, kind and went above and beyond for our stay. The room they gave us, was so much better than I had expected. Very spacious, clean and everything we needed. Ample towels, toiletries, and did I say space? The hotel is quiet. The pool area was nice. My kids enjoyed it very much. We walked out back the morning we were leaving to find a nice little lake area with what looked like paddle boats and a walking path around the lake. Again, I wish we would have stayed here the whole trip. Very very nice hotel and if we come back to this area again, I will definitely be staying here.

I had a nice four day stay here. Was visiting my daughter who lives in Durham, literally five minutes away. So it was very convenient for us and so we did not need a rental car. It was very quiet at night which was nice too. The suite we had was huge. Plenty of pillows, however the AC had to be left on ECO as the fan strength was too much for us as it blew directly onto the bed even after adjusting the louvers. The amenities in the bath room were terrific, however some of the fixtures there are showing their age. The coffee machine was good as well with a nice selection of coffee and tea. I would stay there again. The complementary chocolate chip cookies in the evening before bed were also excellent.

I chose this property for location and price. I arrived later than I normally like to (after 9pm). The front desk clerk I wish I remembered his name (Chris maybe?) but he was very nice. He asked if anyone in my party has any peanut allergies because of the cookies had nuts in it. I wasn't aware they did that. Great touch! I got the room key and got to the room and WOW... I was amazed! Everything looked clean and sanitized. I couldn't believe it I started to look for flaws or defects in everything. If I wanted to be petty I did see a crack in the grout in the shower but no big deal. The decor was very tastful and modern. My family and I loved our stay there. We booked only one night and regretted that we didn't stay longer. We did try but it was fully booked. Anytime I visit the Durham area I don't want to stay nowhere else. I hope all the positive reviews and comments don't increase the prices of the rooms. I will definately return and spread the positve experience I had.

I stayed at another doubletree before and the experience had nothing impressive. My stay this time at DoubleTree Durham impressed me on many aspects. I will definitely choose this hotel next time when I travel to this area.

We love this location & always have a good experience at it. We were especially pleased to have a newly updated room with flooring & furniture. Staff were great & we love walking the beautiful grounds. We even got to see a blue heron.

The rooms could use some updating still cannot beat the value. It was clean, nice pool areas (indoor & outdoor), sauna. We had tasty wings and a yum hummus platter from restaurant. Hotel check in staff were especially great! They deserve to be recognized!

The airport service failed, my room is very old with tiny bathroom and had hell of disturbance with the bar room upgrade they had which gave terrible headache. I never had such experience in any hotel so far

$250/Night hotel is so dumpy and dated the flag should be pulled from this hotel. I wish i could upload pictures of my room

Our room was not quite as nice as the last time. The ceiling over the shower was peeling and bathtub floor was dangerously slippery. We will come back but hopefully these will be taken care of. Staff as always was great.

we did not make it to the hotel my wife was really sick and she drives me! we lost our money

Have stayed here several times since it is close to our daughter's home, great place, private feel, onsite restaurant and bar is a plus if one doesn't feel like going out. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Came to Durham to spend Thanksgiving with my family and stayed at the Double Tree. Very nice hotel and the cookies are to DIE FOR, lol! Our room was stylish, neat and clean…we had a view of the outdoor pool, basketball court & the lake. The thermostat worked great and the heat was awesome because I’m always cold so I appreciate it working very well…the water pressure and temperature was great as well…the only issue we really had was that the doors separating the living and bedroom areas didn’t close completely. Outside of that, we had a great stay and I’d definitely stay here again.
