We had a great time at the Carlsbad Sheraton for my birthday staycation! I loved Taryn, the front desk gal; she was helpful and friendly. Taryn  allowed my friend to decorate a few lounge chairs at the pool before I arrived for my surprise birthday. Most places wouldn’t have allowed that, and I was very appreciative.  The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were roomy. Unfortunately, some noisy people were above us for half the night. Thankfully, security asked him to shut up, and at check-out, Taryn waved my resort fee and sincerely apologized. I almost forgot to mention the lovely restaurant and Café at the poolside. I ordered myself a cup of coffee, and the barista made me a complimentary chai tea latte for my birthday. I look forward to Coming back for another day of vacation 

Please read this carefully! You will thank me later. RUN away if you care about your safety. We stayed a few hours here and they Charged us $40 to keep our car in their covered secured garage and sure enough our car got STOLEN from their garage with all of our belongings inside it. More than $50,000 of stuff was inside it plus all the documentation that we had since we were moving from south to here and we had every important thing with us. They said we have SECURITY crew which was a big lie because after more investigation we found out that they play front desk role during the night and that is why they cannot keep you secure because they are busy with providing towels and change the reservations during the night time instead of doing anything related to security. They Lied about not having camera in their entire area at first and then a few days later when we reached out again, the other person in front desk told us that they have cameras in some places around the hotel. They took zero responsibility toward this traumatic event and they clearly said we are not responsible for anything that happens here. I wish I could reverse the time and not getting fooled with their promisees when they said they have security crew during the whole night. I am extremely heart broken and they care the smallest toward this event. Run away from them if you don’t want your family to get exposed to criminals by their poor management.

The lobby and grounds of this hotel are lovely. The room we had was quite spacious and the beds had nice, fluffy, comfy pillows, although the bed itself was very soft and not comfortable for my taste. They also supplied nice toiletries, and the tub had a laundry line, which is always helpful. However, the line was just outside of the tub itself, so we had to line towels across the floor where our bathing suits dripped. The shower had great hot water, although the water pressure wasn't so great. A nice, thoughtful touch was when housekeeping noticed that I had used a certain type of tea by the empty wrapper and left me a few more of that kind. However, other times I tried calling guest services for something and no one ever answered. I walked down to the desk to ask for extra full sets of towels, hand towels, and washcloths and they left me only a couple of bath towels. The person checking us in didn't seem to know about things going on or policies at the hotel. For example, he couldn't tell us what time the family movie started that evening. Also, the brochure indicates that the resort fee includes a $15 voucher for the restaurant AND on top of that, gold status members receive a free drink. When I asked about why I only received one voucher, they said that the voucher was supposed to cover the free drink. But that's not what the brochure states. As far as the room itself, there were also many oversights. The air conditioning only goes down to 67 degrees, and the first night wasn't working, so we were sweltering. If I'm paying that much money, I want to have more control over the temperature of my room. Also, the large empty corner where the suitcase wrack naturally went had no light nearby. I had to use my headlamp just to see what I was looking for in my suitcase. In the bathroom, it often takes a while to get hot water. Here, it was the opposite: I had to let the water run for quite a long time in order to get cold water. The tub also didn't drain properly. The chair at the desk looked like it was from 1980 and was ripped apart. Not something I would have expected in a "resort." The pool with its water slide was the highlight. However, they have posted hours until 6:00. We thought we'd only have one opportunity to use it when we arrived and raced to the pool at 5:40 to find it already closed. That was very disappointing. We ended up getting up early and asking for a late check-out to use the water slide on the day we left. As an aside, the front desk would not grant me a late check-out when I asked the night before, and they only gave me a one-hour delay even though I am gold status. That was disappointing. Also disappointing was the hot tub, which was more of a barely lukewarm tub. The food at the restaurant was good, but we had incredibly poor service two nights in a row. We only got our cocktails after the food arrived, and only when we walked up to the bar and asked if the ones sitting there were ours. Our server never reappeared af

We had an excellent stay at this property. We are local and went for a staycation and enjoyed the beach, the pool and Legoland. The front desk was amazing including Jonny and the manager and everyone else who helped us. It’s conveniently located and overall relaxing but fun property. Thank you, Sheraton!

The staff was friendly and helpful, the resort was clean and pretty nice. It was within walking distance to Legoland and the free shuttle is a good amenity! My kids loved that and the pool was great! The food at 7 mile restaurant was super good and the gelato was our favorite!

I would avoid this hotel unless you want to risk getting massively over charged on credit card holds for incidentals. The hotel charged holds of $8,400 on my card after 3 nights where I only spent about $900 in total. While the staff that I (finally) spoke with seemed like nice people, they were not helpful. Whether its maliciousness or ineptitude, something is wrong with the way this hotel treats its customers. I would urge caution to anyone who stays here. My family and I checked in on Friday for a 8 night stay. At that time our credit card was billed for the cost of the stay, which made sense. During our first 3 days at the hotel we averaged about $300/day spent on breakfast and dinner as a family, or about $900 in total. During that time the hotel placed 3 additional holds for incidentals on our credit far for almost $8,400, nearly 10x what we spent. This is all on top of the initial charge for our room and just 3 nights into an 8 night stay. When I raised this issue with the staff it was a long process to try to get fixed. Over 10 hours after I went to the front desk to complain about this, and over 3 hours after I was told "a manager will call you shortly" when no one ever did, I finally went to the front desk and refused to leave until I spoke with a manager. After 30 minutes of waiting someone finally came out. He attempted to explain that the $8,400 of holds they placed on my card were justified by their system. I did my best to show the math in that I had only spent about $900 and there was no scenario where holding almost 10x that amount made sense. I told them that if they kept doing this they'd max out my card by the end of our 8 night stay. In the end it was useless as they were not listening to the math. And the fact that it was almost impossible to get anyone to help with this is a poor reflection on hotel management.

Service was great. Everyone was super nice. Staff was helpful and made us feel confortable and appreciated. Resort was clean and the pool was great for the kids with walk in lagoon style pool. 7 mile kitchen breakfast was delicious. Would recommend.

One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in! Enjoyed the view from the balcony. Great service at the front desk by new employee (his name starts with a K and I believe he wears glasses)! Enjoyed delicious breakfast at 7 mile in a relaxing atmosphere as we sat outside. My kids loved the pool, and especially the waterslide! Great location for Legoland visitors! Would highly recommend this hotel!

Excellent resort with wonderful people. The pool is amazing and the rooms are very clean. Loved the shuttle service as they dropped us off at Legoland which saved on parking and the hassle of traffic. The shuttle service was always there within 10 minutes at the most.

I loved my stay at the Sheraton Carlsbad. Taryn at the checkbook-bin desk was awesome. Super friendly and extremely helpful. It is people like Taryn that will make me want to come back. The pool area was awesome and the bed was super comfortable. A truly great experience,

Service at the front desk and dining area was great. We were barely at resort as we were attending a wedding nearby. Easy freeway access, quiet and large room. Very maze- like to get from room to front desk area. Very pretty lobby and would stay again

This resort is very nice and totally deserves 5 star review but I just couldn’t because upon arriving for checkin which was at 4 my room still wasn’t ready and we were forced to wait until after 7pm. Additionally the slide closing at 6 on the summer is a bummer but that’s a minor hiccup bc everything else was beautiful

Johnny at the front desk was fantastic and very helpful! He gave me excellent customer service and accommodations. He was a pleasure to deal with! I needed to change rooms, and he did so without any trouble at all. He was also fun to talk as I waited for my co-workers to show up in the lobby.
