Great hotel, nice view and foods

Awesome location. Biggest drawback was the general public having access to and using the pool. As a hotel guest, especially on a 36deg day, I expect to have access to the hotel facilities, and not have to sit on the floor because a group of rowdy drunks can head up the public access lift to the pool area, take majority of the deck chairs and have absolutely no regard for anyone else. And the hotel staff do nothing about it other than continue to serve them more drinks. I get that Fiume is a public bar, but surely access to the actual pool could be by hotel access chip/card!

For an expensive hotel room the noice keep us up all night, not from outside the hotel but rather inside the hotel. There was excessive screaming from a variety of different groups of people and you could hear the lady above in high heels traipsing about at midnight. Given that this hotel is not that old you would have thought they would have built it with noise barriers in place. If your going to stay, make sure you ask for a room well away from the lifts. On the plus side the location is great.

Had a terrible stay. There is a marathon on that started early in the morning and I could hear all the noise on a Sunday morning then my car was stuck in the car park until lunchtime and I was supposed to have an early flight out of Brisbane which I had to cancel and couldn’t get another one. No one told me about this the only entertaining area inside the restaurant was also closed on Saturday night due to a function so there was nowhere else to sit and relax.

We were shocked on check in to learn that our bookings (2 rooms) were almost double the advertised price on *******, only to realise the ******* rate was in USD, not AUD. There is no mention of USD on the website. Very mosleading. So our one night stay cost double what we expected. Not a great start to a milestone birthday celebration. This was compounded by a broken kettle in room, broken shower handle. We contacted the hotel prior to organise parking and mentioned the special occasion only to receive an email 4 days later asking if we wanted to arrange parking, and again on check in we were asked if we needed parking and was this a special occasion! Poor records management. In isolation all things are minor but combined it's certainly not the experience one would expect from a hotel that pitches themselves as a premium experience.

Hotel is really good overall, in a terrific location. Only negative was the "minibar" which was not replenished during our 4 day stay, then a subsequent overcharge after we had left.

Love the location but disappointed as our room did not have a view of the story bridge as pictured online, specifically booked this room for that reason, instead our room was at the edge of the hotel on level 5 (great level) and had river view but could only see thre bridge if stood right in the corner of the room and looked on an angle, so was pretty disappointing.
