The Kato Dool Hotel is too beautiful for just one night but offers too little for a longer stay. This creates a contradiction, and there is still much work to be done. **Pros:** - The hotel features unique architecture with vibrant colors, staying true to the Nubian style. - The view is probably the best you can get in Aswan. - Every room includes a cozy balcony. - There is an outdoor terrace by the pool where you can enjoy food while overlooking the Nile. - The food they serve is good. **Cons:** - The food is very monotonous. 80% of the dishes are some variety of tagine. There are only a few vegetarian options, with most dishes featuring chicken, beef, or seafood. Seafood dishes must be ordered one day in advance. The waiting time for drinks and food is also very long—expect to wait 40-60 minutes after placing your order. - Many of the wooden furniture pieces need readjustment. Doors are difficult to open, windows don’t close properly, and closets won’t open. - There is only Wi-Fi in the reception area, with no coverage in the rooms. Management has been aware of this issue for over a year and promised to fix it, but nothing has changed (according to older reviews). - The rooms are very noisy. Whenever someone uses water on any floor, the boiler runs for several minutes, and you can hear every cough from neighboring rooms. - There are no blackout curtains, and the air conditioning is slow to cool the room. In the main area, there is also a loud beeping noise coming from the roof, which the staff hasn’t been able to stop. It is constant and extremely annoying when dining, relaxing, or sleeping. - The road leading to the hotel is unpaved, consisting of sand and rocks. - The hotel offers a tuk-tuk service between the village and the hotel, but there is little to do in the village. For trips to Aswan or other places, you need to book a private driver through reception. Each way will cost you about 800EGP every time - Although the hotel is branded as a 4-star wellness hotel, the only facility it offers is a pool—there are no other wellness services. - We paid around €400 for three nights, which isn’t a lot by European standards, but it is expensive for Egypt, and the quality of service did not meet expectations. The hotel is beautiful, but that’s about it. This was something we noticed throughout Aswan: prices are higher than in Luxor, but the level of service drops significantly. Even the bathrooms lack basic amenities, like toilet brushes. - There are many staff members, but their English is very limited, making communication difficult and leading to frequent misunderstandings. The only staff member who is easy to work with is Ahmed at the reception. He tries his best to make your stay more enjoyable. - A major downside is the lack of an alcohol license. While alcohol isn’t essential for a vacation, it adds a romantic element to the evenings with the stunning view. The hotel caters exclusively to foreign tourists,

view was very good and amazing location highly recommended thanks Tisir and whole team for the warm hospitality to our group we enjoyed so much there and we hopefully go again for longer time highly recommend to everyone and thanks khalid Baki at the bar for the delicious drinks
We chose this as a base while in the area for a few days and it was a great choice. The room while basic was well presented and had a lovely view. The breakfast was included and served us very well with a view over the nile. The main thing that really stood out were the staff, they were excellent. Any questions were answered with helpful information and we organised a couple of trips/transfers from them. If we had an early trip they had organised a take away breakfast. Would highly recommend.
I absolutely loved this place. It is a little bit away from the city (about 3 miles/5 km) but that means you get a little private, quiet piece of the Nile from the room balcony. The staff were just excellent and took care of us so well. The front desk was always helpful and helped arrange our tours and taxis. The rooms were charming, clean, and orderly. The rest of the hotel is similarly clean and charming. When we arrived we had an issue with our room’s AC not working well, and the staff responded immediately and helped us move rooms when it was clear it wouldn’t be fixed quickly. They were similarly very responsive to our needs during the entirety of the trip. The security at the hotel is also great.

訪訪客用戶I immediately typed this review on my phone upon departure because I was so excited to post it when I had some time and internet. Hadouta Masreya is an incredible experience! My ONLY regret is that we didn’t have enough time as we didn’t land until 1:30 am and had to leave around 9 am. Hospitality: Hamed and Shereen were extremely accommodating during and before the trip, respectively. Shereen helped me coordinate via WhatsApp transportation from the airport (and to our Nile cruise pick up point), as the Nubian Village is not directly off a main road. Our drivers were there for airport pickup on time and patient with all of our luggage and how late it was. They even came back to take us to our Nile cruise pickup point. Furthermore, one of the drivers helped us contact our tour guide when we couldn’t find our guide at the cruise point. They ensured not to leave us until we were in safe hands! Upon arrival to the guest house, Hamed welcomed us with open arms- literally! He was on the steps upon arrival (it’s 2:30 am at this point) and super friendly and helpful! He offered us juices and helped set us all up. In the morning, he offered us snacks and beverages (as we were too tired to wake up early enough for breakfast- which was definitely offered!!). Just such wonderful hospitality and we felt so sad to leave! Room: My parents had a private room on the first floor and my husband and I had one at the top floor with the view of the Nile. Both rooms were clean and had functional AC! The bathrooms were updated. Like the vanity and tiles look better than the ones in my bathroom at home LOL. The mattress was on the stiffer side, but that’s a good thing for us, as we do prefer these types of beds. The view was incredible too in the morning when we woke up! Heads up before you book: the Nile view rooms have a lot of stairs so be prepared if that’s what you book. We knew that going in so we had ourselves mentally ready! Ambience: Nubian Village is so special and beautiful. I really want to come back and visit again! The colors are so vibrant and you could feel the sense of community and pride in their village as you’re driving through. There are cute markets within walking distance too. Overall, these positive reviews are spot on, and the pictures simply don’t do this properly justice.
訪訪客Our first impression was great. Beautiful lobby & wonderful staff. We were sent across the driveway to rooms on the Nile. The view was great, but the constant honking of horns due to the road being very close, was not so great. The Wifi worked very well. There was a lot of storage in the room. And room service was excellent & food was delicious. We even got a box lunch for breakfast the next morning & it was stuffed full of good things. The furniture was very old but that is not an issue if all else is well. However, the beds were the hardest I have ever slept on, with high pillows that felt like a full bag of flour. And then there was the dirt. I am not known for my house-keeping skills, but this dropped below my standards. Dirt on the bathroom door made me want to not touch it. The walls had dirt & stains on them. Some things were broken & holes were just left in the walls. The curtains were not clean. I felt dirty every time I touched something. The bedding seemed to be clean, though. Thankfully, we were only there for 1 night, so we let it go, as it was booked for us by tour company. we would not stay there again, despite all of the good things.
訪訪客I really loved this hotel. The view from my room (5th floor) over Aswan, the cataract, Elephantine Island, Aga Khan monument, was breathtaking. As the hotel is on a hill, I cannot imagine any other hotel offering views like that. The rooms are very clean, though a bit dated, and large, with a balcony. Very generous outdoor grounds, nice swimming pool and a perfect breakfast buffet. Nice little shopping center with very good prices for souvenirs. All in all - a hotel I would like to return to.
