We didn't stay, walked out. They wanted a $100 cash deposit on top of what I already paid AND hold my credit card until checkout the next day. We left!

We had a very bad experience with this hotel. We feel cheated. We asked for an Eary Check in. The person at the reception told us that this was possible, but it would cost USD 15.00. We agreed. We were charged USD 50.00 on our credit card. When we complained, the hotel did not respond to our intervention. The hotel is gloomy, the infrastructure is outdated and we found the whole thing very unappealing. We also had a bad meal for expensive money. This hotel is not recommended

Great location for us as we departed via float plane to our fishing grounds. So close to the plane departure local. Rooms need a bit of updating, but very comfortable. The shuttle from the airport was easy as well as when we departed. Staff was excellent from check in to check out. The maintenance crew were also accomodating when we neeeded to get our fish box out of the freezer.

We made a reservation in March -- through their website -- where we selected the type of room we wanted. In this case a king junior suite. We received a confirmation and thought our room was set for four nights. On check in we were told that that type room was not available because they were "over sold", but they offered us a room with two beds - so we asked to see it to see if it was acceptable. The woman at the front desk (Keke) who seemed to be in charge said "we don't do that" but on my instance she allowed the young lady checking us in to give us a key to take look -- it was on the second floor, and when we asked where the elevator was we were told "we don't have one". Guess we should have checked before we booked! My partner took the key and went to look at the room. It was up a substantial flight of stairs and all the way down a long hall. Quite a walk in and out, and I am disabled – so not ADA compliant. While the pictures and video on their website are “accurate”, they are very deceiving. The hotel look more like a run down motel in the back, with boarded up windows, and is basically in the middle of an airport parking lot. If this is your “once in a lifetime” special trip to Alaska, this is NOT the place to stay. So – I got on the phone with the Hilton Anchorage and was connected with an excellent reservation agent, Alex. He listened to our problem and then took action to accommodate us. I sit here in my Hilton room on the 9th floor with a lovely view of the snow capped mountains –- and all this for about $100 a night less – minus all of the Uber trips we would have needed. The moral of the story – book at reputable hotels that honor your reservation – as you made it !
