安克雷奇希爾頓飯店(Hilton Anchorage)

This hotel was in a very convenient location in downtown anchorage. There are a lot of places to eat and to shop around. I recommend it for this regard. The hotel was clean and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. The reception area was large and the staff were friendly. The only reason why I did not give this hotel a perfect score is that it charges significantly higher than its competition for a hotel that does not feel that it is at par with other Hilton properties. It lacks the luxury feel. There was no onsite bar and it really lacked some of the amenities other similar hotels in the same price range. Other than that, it was a good hotel.

What a dump. I expected way more from a Hilton. The room was a tiny, back in a dark corner with a wall outside of the window so we had no natural light. It was very noisy and then they decided it would be a good idea to clean the carpets outside our room between 10 pm and 4 am. Plus the water was out at least twice while we were there. On the plus side, the shower was one of the best ever. I was very disappointed for a $300 per night room.

The hotel was clean. The tub did not drain when I used the shower. My husband had to shower in the pool facility. The room was not stocked with any coffee. The blow dryer was broken and did not work. We tried to stand in line at the front desk to bring these issues to the hotel’s attention, but after a twenty minute wait without any progress in the line we gave up and decided we’d give the feedback when given the opportunity via email.

I told the nice woman when I checked in that I was sick and needed to rest before my flight the next t day. Found socks in my bed. Staff refused to change the room or have bed changed. I put all linen outside the door and had housekeeping bring me up clean linen. 2 maintenance men came in at night without my permission and said the front desk said I didn’t have lights which was a lie. Instead they hit the GIF switch that shut off my AC. Later when I realized what had happened I fixed the situation with the switch and had AC again. Anchorage Hilton no place to go if you are sick. I can’t believe that a 76 year old woman would be treated this way. Disgraceful!

There was a lot of drug use in the area and people screaming in the alley by the hotel. There is a tent city for the homeless around the corner too. The hotel is quite run down (mould in bathroom and there was major dirt and garbage under the heater). This is a 3 star at best and too expensive for what it is. There was no hair dryer in room either. We only stayed here because our original hotel lost our reservation. They were going to charge us $499 US a night and when I showed the ******* rate they wouldn’t give it to me ( was cheaper) and made me go and do it from my phone.

Hot tub is lukewarm, staff is disingenuous about where there is parking, and there is a really cool looking bar/restaurant on the top floor that is inexplicably closed, but location is great and if you go in expecting a discount hotel you’ll be very impressed. Easy to get the sense that it was a much nicer hotel ten or twenty years ago.

We stayed at this property for our last night at Alaska after a memorable trip. We booked a deluxe room to finish the trip. When we checked in, the staff checked us in promptly not mentioning anything. After we entered the room, we realized it was incredibly small starting a building from the window. Mostly blocked view. After calling the front desk and asking them if it was in fact a deluxe room, they admitted they ran out. My husband and I have lived in Hilton properties for many years but have never felt deceived like this. Instead of proactively stating that they have overbooked & compensating, they quietly degraded our room hoping we wouldn’t notice. They offered us breakfast for two to make up for it after we asked for it, and the breakfast was the only thing that was pretty good. Property common areas are nice, but the room we stayed in was incredibly small, terrible blocked view, and old bathroom fittings. They charged $15/night for parking. Double check your booking if you book with this hotel.
