The courtyard was beautiful. However, that’s really the only thing that stood out at this property. We paid $1500 per room each per night for 2 small suites. I expected a hotel more like one in the Small Luxury Hotels group. It was a significantly lower quality. Service was ok, but none of the staff went out of their way to make it a welcoming experience. Maybe that’s a cultural Dutch thing….? Give guests their privacy unless guests specially ask for something…? Rooms were ok, but dirty in places that housekeeping didn’t expect guests to look (behind the night table when I went to plug in my charger). One of the suites (388) had a super strange layout with a unusable loft - it felt dark and dingy compared to the other suite. But the other suite (528) had constant noises (maybe from the elevator) that was super annoying. I didn’t walk away from the Pulitzer with any other feeling except for “meh.” Especially after paying $14k total for 4 nights.
