We have fans and with windows opened in afternoon/evening the temperature is managed just fine. Swamp coolers are the common standard for energy efficiency/effectiveness of a cooling system in such a deserty area. Hit the nearby hiking/biking trails, go on a white-water rafting or kayak exhibition, or visit the highest suspension bridge in the US. Don't forget to check out the great local restaurants, breweries, and winery or just enjoy the great back patio!The spaceThis cozy Colorado cottage offers the amazing comfort and great amenities needed while adventuring in the mountains. Lots of great natural light creates a super inviting and bright space.The open living and dining areas are perfect for sharing meals, relaxing with a movie, or having game night with any of the variety of board games located in the front closet. The kitchen has all the basics for preparing home cooked meals: dishes/bakeware, utensils, spices/dry condiments, even a crockpot and microwave with air fryer! This property does not currently have a dishwasher, however bamboo drying rack and all supplies provided for super quick and easy cleaning and paper products are also available. The full bathroom is stocked with basic toiletries, super soft and absorbent towels and plenty of space in the mirrored medicine cabinet and under sink storage. Our home has 2 bedrooms with 1 double bed & 1 king bed, 1 bathroom with a walk in shower, a den, a living room with 2 couches, a full kitchen, and an enclosed sun room and outdoor patio with a large fenced yard. Don’t be surprised if you have a deer or two come and visit! You will love sitting in the enclosed sunroom enjoying the lush yard or reclining back watching tv or gathering around the table to play games with the family. It’s a wonderful place to escape to, hang out and catch up on a little R&R. But, if you’re looking for a little more fun, You are just minutes from downtown and all our town’s amenities. Canon City hosts many restaurants, breweries, wineries , grocery stores, Walmart and a movie theater. Old downtown offers many unique, one of a kind shops. We have several city parks for families to enjoy, one has a splash pad for water fun! The Royal Gorge, which is America’s highest suspension bridge, is 15 minutes away. The Royal Gorge train is minutes from the house and ushers you up the floor of the canyon. You can take a helicopter tour, raft down the Arkansas river, rent a Segway, ride the zip line or go to the dinosaur museum which are all local attractions. Our golf course is 15 minutes away. For the Antique lover, Florence is 15 minutes away and is filled with Antique stores and specialty shops. Colorado Springs is an hour drive and opens up all the attractions a big city has to offer. It is the home of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the Airforce Academy, the Olympic training center, the Broadmoor Hotel and much more. You can drive up Pikes Peak which is over 14,000 feet in elevation and ride the Cog railway at the top. For you skiers who love the snow Monarch Ski Area is about 90 minutes away. Cripple Creek is a gambling town and is a beautiful 1 hour drive. After your fun filled day of adventure, return back to the house to relax or just recharge for your next activity.
