This hotel has excellent staff with great hospitality. Immaculate surroundings, courteous staff and upscale amenities. We wished we could've taken more time to explore the other activities that the property provided.

The property was beautiful and well maintained. However, the food service staff needs to be trained on food allergies and safety. The first night, we ate in the dining room. My husband told the server that he has a severe gluten allergy and ordered the salmon with a beet salad. We told the server to make sure there were no croutons. It arrived with croutons. We sent it back asking for a fresh one. They must have just removed the croutons, causing cross contamination because he ended up getting sick. The next night, we ordered room service. I once again told about the food allergy and asked a question about how it was prepared. The person couldn’t answer it. Most people who work in the food industry should be well trained to handle food allergies. Very upsetting.

Some of the staff were very nice, some not. Check in was delayed until after 4:00pm due to housekeeping. While the room was clean, the lobby was under construction, with saws in the morning outside on their porch…during the rain, so nowhere to go to avoid except back to the room. Since ******* is considered by them a Third party booking agent, we were assessed with a facilities change upon arrival, though we paid in full with the reservation. The dining room was understaffed and all we heard was excuses. The quality of meals was very average for exceedingly high prices. Very disappointed after reading all the “reviews”0

Expensive. The ******* cost per night does not include Taxes and resort fees, so be prepared to spend more. Building is old with lots of history.

I love Mountain View Grand however, the room location was awful! Our view was a roof with a very noisy heat/air conditioner unit. Very disappointing! Called front desk asked to have room changed was greeted by a very indifferent manager who was unwilling to accommodate

The pricing on this property puts them in a category they have no business claiming. Yes, they do come in and clean rooms daily. Yes, they do have amenities on site, but not of the class the pricing dictates. It was almost $150.00 in property fees for a 3 night stay and the amenities just don’t dictate this kind of fee. We went off season and a 1 bedroom king suite with property fee was close to $700 a night midweek. I would only travel to this property for work in the future.

Beautiful grounds and hotel. Restaurant could not accomodate hotel guests. Was not able to make reservation and was only able to do room service for 30 charge. Room service did not bring correct amount of silverware. Would reccomend making reservation a few days in advance.

This is/was a historic property. The "modern" changes to the lobby and bar areas (cheap bar stools) and new design for the front desk change that historic feel. In the older days there were greaters/bell men when you entered the hotel and the pictures and decor added a sense of grace. Those are disappearing. The room was also disappointing. The mattress was terrible. I would recommend the Mount Washington !

I have stayed at this property numerous times and have always had positive experiences. However, this stay was different as the hotel was under construction and renovation. There was no communication prior to arrival that there would be restrictions and the historic aspect of the hotel was being completely renovated. it would’ve been helpful to have either meals compensated or some clear communication prior to arrival that the hotel was not going to be as a advertised. Management should have let it’s guests know. We had a family with us that from California and didn’t get the true experience and spent money to be there. We had to walk around various hallways and floors to get anywhere (no clear signs of where to go or staff directing to where things had been relocated). We were looking forward to the views of the harvest tavern and cocktails in the lobby by the fire place just to find out, after driving hours, neither of these were available. Communication about a construction work zone and some type of compensation for all the restrictions would have made for a better experience. I’ve been a guest numerous times and this is the only negative experience I have had.
