山影度假村(Mountain Shadows Resorts)

Took the best decision to stay at Mountain shadows with my partner and a kid for three nights. Location and view: Amazing, the best part is all the rooms have the same views. Service: Excellent, be it at the reception or at the restaurant or the buggy service or be it of the naturalist. Swimming pool: Infinity, huge, clean and floating tubes of all the sizes were avaialbel for non swimmers too. Play area: Hige, various activities are there, and all is well maintained. Best part is they have outdoor turfs too, where you can play volley ball, cricket, football in groups:) Even the reading corner, sittingarea, lounge area, everything was so beautiful and with amazing views. Restaurant: Food was good, buffet size was huge, hi-tea was simple and filling, service and seating space was all perfect. No bar facility yet. The hospitality was at its best. Best decision to spend three nights at this place:)

It was a great stay at Mountain Shadows resort for 2 nights. Let's just say that even though the price is a little steep, you may find good deals from time to time, and once you see their operations, this price seems worth paying for. Location - This resort is based right off the Banasurasagar dam. We went in May so the dam wasn't that full but I'm sure it's full post monsoon. The location is absolutely stunning with water on one side and lush green western ghats mountains on the other side. During rainy season clouds descend onto the mountains to create a magical effect. Approach - If you're coming from Bangalore then be prepared to face state highways for almost half of your journey which reduces the average speed to about 30 kms/hr, but you pass through the beautiful Nagarhole Tiger Reserve which is a treat in itself. The last 3 kms road is untarred and is semi offroading experience. So ensure your car is apt and you drive carefully. Rooms - Our room was stunning with ample space, wardrobe, mini bar fridge, locker, kettle and what not. The bathroom was enormous and there's s huge balcony attached to the room. For coffee lovers, they had provided a french press, a first for me. Service - Service was excellent with the staff smiling, greeting you, conversing with you and taking care of all your needs. We went with our infant. They were kind enough to provide a big baby cot with a cute blanket. They took care of preparing the baby food for us and were courteous everytime we asked for something. Activites - We used the infinity pool which was very well kept, very clean. They have a morning property tour and night walk to spot local wildlife species. There's plenty of indoor games, a gym, small library, and plenty of places to engage in yoga and meditation. Food - We chose the AP plan which included all meals. The fiod quality and variety was excellent. Overall it was an excellent stay at Mountain Shadows resort, a very memorable one.

The resort was quite a pleasant surprise. Located in a very picturesque area on the far side of the Banasura sagar reservoir, the resort offers splendid views of the surrounding mountains and the reservoir itself. We chose the family villa as we were traveling with the extended family. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Beds are comfortable and all modern day amenities expected in a high end resort are available. The room offers an unobstructed view of the Banasura reservoir . You can see the occasional speedboat in the distance. Otherwise it is all nature outside. The staff were extremely helpful. Buggy service was available every time within a few minutes. The main lobby is located at the top level. The infinity pool offers an expansive view of the surroundings. The villas are at different levels below. We were initially concerned about the availability of vegetarian food. We had plenty of good options in the buffet as well as the room service menu. The restaurant staff go out of the way to cater to every request. There are complimentary snacks and coffee/tea in the evenings. The resort also has a good ayurvedic spa as well as activities like cycling, spice tour and night walk to spend some time. There is also the indoor games room to keep kids busy. I personally enjoyed spending time in the natural surroundings. Resort is on par or better than similar places in india, south east asia . Rooms, service and food are excellent. What more to ask for during a vacation.

Lived two days of our life in paradise, truly heaven on earth. Been to many exotic places but this was extremely scenic and exotic. Will last a lifetime of memories. Just not the beautiful place and comfortable room, the staffs were really graceful and friendly. The food was really good too.

The mountain shadow offers an absolutely breathtaking view complemented by beautiful rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the night walk and morning bird walks, thanks to Kiran's extensive knowledge about various insects, birds, and endemic species. The staff at both the reception and restaurant were incredibly friendly. There are plenty of activities for kids, including a nice soft play area. While the last stretch to the resort may be bumpy, it truly adds to the off-road experience. Just drive slowly and watch out for incoming vehicles.

Mountain shadow itself describe the beauty of mountain. The property is 22 acre long in the middle of river and mountains. The member working in mountain shadow are so helpful and yes the food is also tasty n delicious. Rooms are so neat and clean and yes the complimentary given was fabulous. Arun Kumar always help us in travelling.

The resorts location makes it one of the most beautiful resorts in Kerala. The food choices were good and the infinity pool overlooking the lake and mountains was a highlight. The approach road cuts through the jungle and on a rocky patch but drivable. There was a live music over dinner on weekends and was great too

Very good ambience. Enjoyed throughout the stay. Great food especially evening buffet service. Very well maintained resort. Overall excellent hospitality. We celebrated our kid birthday and they were kind enough to provide us a surprise cake in restaurant. Only a small suggestion is to stop using polythene in restaurant and practice more eco friendly products.
