The hotel is perfectly located near DuPont Circle and the train from Union station was incredibly easy to navigate. The entrance to the hotel and lobby are unassuming and, under new ownership, I hope will be upgraded. Nothing wrong with them but not as special as the rooms. The staff was warm and helpful. My room was large and beautifully appointed. The linens were crisp. The bathroom was unusually gracious and immaculate. The products were lovely. Overall, it was an excellent experience and value and I hope to return. Note: I was concerned that I was given a second floor room but it was absolutely quite.

Great location to DuPont Circle, reasonably priced, easily accessible for Lyft drivers and MJ ar restaurant was personality plus, great energy and even better customer service. Receptionists varied from friendly to indifferent as we’re the rest of the restaurant staff except MJ. Ridiculous that happy hour only included Malbec red wine and no white wine ootion

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel Madera, when we checked in it took an hour and a half passed, check in to get us a room. I had been told when I made my reservation through ******* that I had a double queen room my confirmation from the hotel Madera claimed it was a king room. I needed a queen room so it took them quite a while to straighten that out but the wait time to be checked into the room was a bit too long. And when it came time to check out and I was charged for the amenities that was when I was told about the amenities. No one informed me at check-in time that they had a wine hour, and also that we were being charged for Internet, because when I signed into Internet, it said it was free. The Hotel is lovely. The area is lovely but I think they need to work a bit better on their reception area. Other than that I would recommend this hotel.

Upon checking in to the hotel there was no visible parking area except valet space in front of the building. (Spaces were occupied at the time of checking in) I ask the front desk lady which appeared to be the manager, could I park on the opposite side of the street without receiving a ticket? Her response, “the hotel isn’t responsible if something bad happens to your car”. I asked are you implying something bad is going to happen to my car? I asked again “Can I park in front of the hotel without receiving a parking ticket?” She then responded with the same answer. So now at this point I’m nervous to stay at the hotel and in the area. The lady was of no assistance I had to ask someone standing in front of the hotel for additional assistance. Not to mention there was supposed to be complementary water on every floor, I checked multiple times nothing was out my entire stay. Then while checking out I got the same lady again, she proceeded to mention all these previous crimes that took place outside of the hotel. I was over it, and ready to go! “I honestly think this is her way of making people use their valet service which is $50, not included in the reservation fee.” Overall the hotel was clean but the manager was rude and not helpful at all. Individuals with bad customer service are bad for business, she needs to go or receive additional customer service TRAINING!!!!

The hotel room was clean and spacious. When checking in the staff was rude. When the issue of a ammenity charge was brought up, an I asked what ammenities were included, we were told we just missed the complimentary cocktail hour and there was no water available. The gym was sub par. I'm not sure why they have such a large "resort fee".

Initially, we got to the hotel around 1 before allowed ck in. The rooms were not ready which we were ok with Andy helped us with our luggage and we stored until we could come back in couple of hours. When we got to front desk at 7 pm, front desk agent told us one of the 2 rooms we booked through ******* were not ready. Then she was going to give us another room but told housekeeping manager to ck if it’s clean. He came back and said the room is occupied. We had asked for 2 rooms close to each other, but she had to give us 2 rooms on different floors. The rooms seemed clean no except a few things. This used to be an excellent hotel, as we stayed here 2 other times. But we felt the evening staff need to be trained better

Great hotel with a great location. Room was very spacious which we loved. Did not have a chance to try the restaurant. Only complaint would be the AC unit, room was very warm and the unit didn't cool it enough. We could have left the balcony open but just too much traffic noise.

Check in was not smooth, didn’t get explained even the floor our room was on or how to get access to the water and ice, breakfast times if we wanted it nothing. Although he was helpful in telling us where cheaper parking was. The location is excellent and the service from the staff in firefly was lovely but the hotel reception staff seems disinterested or maybe new employees who have not been taught the customer service standards.
