Had pre-paid for luggage storage service. Blonde girl on desk at around 12pm today was cold and unfriendly. Said we needed the QR code which had been sent to my email. My email wouldn’t open on my phone so asked if I could use the hostel computer to access the code. She said no. When I begged, she said it was an issue of guests’ data privacy so I suggested she watch me while I log in to my email to ensure I wasn’t looking at anything I shouldn’t be. Again, she flatly said no. I was getting upset because we were in such a hurry and my email wasn’t opening. I continued to beg her to let me use the hostel computer, she kept refusing and was completely unsympathetic when I started crying, even seeming to find it funny. I asked my husband to try to reason with her to see if he would have better luck but she bluntly refused to acquiesce in any way or to discuss giving us a refund. I’ve worked in numerous hostels myself, and staff need to be kind and amiable to do the job properly. I have no idea why someone like that would want to work in a hostel when she clearly has no interest in helping or accommodating anyone. I’m also unsure as to why the owners would want to hire someone so rude and mean-spirited to represent their hostel.
