大屋 - 羅萊夏朵飯店(Grand House - Relais & Chateaux)

L’hotel, anzi le aree comuni (lobby, ristorante, bar, ecc.) hanno un fascino coloniale tutto sommato bello, ma le stanze (era con la mia famiglia e quindi ne ho viste due, anzi, tre perché la receptionist molto gentile, me ne ha mostrata una terza), le ho trovate mediamente piccole e arredate in modo impersonale ed ordinario. Credo onestamente che la quinta stella sia stata regalata e anche il beach club, non l’ho trovato un granché, a onor del vero, credo che anche il contesto non aiuti, trovo infatti che Vila Real de Santo Antonio sia un posto abbastanza “mediocre”.

Estavamos pela primeira vez em VRS Antônio à procura de hotel para pernoitar. Indicaram nos o Grande hotel Guadiana, antes de solicitatmos quarto pedimos para usar o WC ao qual a colaboradora Dulce se recusou, primeiro era porque o WC estava porque era apenas para clientes, a segunda desculpa que deu era porque era no 1andar. Ficamos chocados, eu e o meu marido, ainda por cima tendo um bebê com menos de 2 anos. Saímos indignados e extremamente desrespeitados. Nunca nos tinha acontecido um hotel de 5 estrelas recusar entrada ao clientes. Muito triste e deveras descriminatorio. Espero que o turismo cultive menos Dulces e mais hospitalidade de quem os escolhe para as suas férias.

Hotel maravilhoso. Tudo perfeito. Prédio finamente restaurado, serviços e pessoal espetacular. Porém mantém dois pássaros numa gaiola ao sol, o que causa péssima impressão pelo mal trato com os bichos.

This is an exceptional hotel, a gem in a beautiful corner of Portugal. It isn’t cheap so I arrived with high expectations and the Grand House and it’s staff did not disappoint and in fact my expectations were exceeded. The staff were elegantly presented and their service levels were second to none. The food was beautiful, my room was fabulously spacious and comfortable as were the lounging areas of this fabulous old building. The transfer service to and from their beach club (5minutes) was consistently available with friendly and helpful drivers. The beach club itself was glorious, amazing views over the sea and a few dolphins even swam by to perform for the residents. Again the service, comfort and food at the beach club were real five star.

Slightly faded glory, but interesting place. Lovely staff. Nice river view room with comfortable bed. Found the restaurant dark and a little disappointed with food at dinner. Breakfast was good. The town is a bit scruffy in several areas. There’s some fabulous old buildings on the river front crying out to be restored. It’s almost impossible to park in Ayamonte but very easy to get the ferry over the river and you can park at the terminal for free. Lots of shops in the square and side streets

Nice small rooms in a 100 year old hotel. The rooms are nice but small. There is very little room for suitcases and other items. I had a medium size room so I imagine there are even smaller rooms The restaurant is a major disappointment. Eat outside the hotel and avoid a bad experience. The portions and quality is very unlike the rest of Portugal or Spain.

We recently stayed 3 nights at The Grand House while escaping the UK Winter weather for the blue skies and sunshine of the Algarve (even in late February) and visiting Vila Real da Santo Antonio (VRSA) for the first time. The Grand House provided a perfect place to stay and explore the area and we absolutely loved it. You should go there. Vila Real da Santo Antonio (VRSA) is a lovely little town on the mighty river Guadiana with a pretty little marina, a lovely promenade and many stunning beaches. It's great to use as a base for visiting Castro Marim, Ayamonte, etc. It would be hard to visit VRSA and not come across The Grand House - it's perhaps the most architecturally stunning building in the town on the main thoroughfare and just walking through its doors feels like walking into luxury. Our stay here was perfect. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very welcoming, friendly and provided excellent service. The public areas of the hotel are absolutely beautiful and there are some great views from the roof terraces. Our room was superb - very comfortable, modern and well appointed and, perhaps because Winter is a quiet time, the hotel gave us the central room right at the top of the hotel with a balcony overlooking the river & the marina. A real treat. We had breakfast each morning in the hotel and it was brilliant - a great buffet complemented with food cooked to order and enjoyed in the highly photogenic restaurant/bar. We also had lunch at the Grand Club House down near the beach and were really surprised by what a great extra facility this is - a beautiful space to eat/drink and sit out in the sun with excellent food and service from excellent staff. Lastly, we had a dinner in the hotel and it was very good and I'd especially highlight the service - the waiter was excellent. I'd return to The Grand House any time I was lucky enough to be in the area and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others - it's a super place to be.

What a wonderful little find! The hotel itself is beautifully restored with intricate details. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food in the dining room is excellent. We had breakfast daily and it was delicious as well as Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner. The bar is quaint and will make you any drink you want, and the bartender is top notch! We went to the beach club for Christmas lunch its a wonderful spot that I can see being a great hangout spot during the warmer months, albeit a bit of a walk from the hotel (we had opted to walk but were offered a ride from the hotel). The staff is what rounds out the hotel experience. Extremely friendly and accommodating, everyone is always making sure you not only feel welcome and comfortable but are also having a good time. The little town this hotel is in is also supremely charming and the hotel is not far from the center of the town so its very easy to walk around and explore. Overall a lovely and memorable stay!

More than met the hype, we had been looking forard to for over a year. This was our first visit to this part of Portugal. Note we went out of season so the place was quiet (eg easy to get seated in the small but delightlful bar).The Grand House has interesting history back to early 20th century and a recent refurb has scrubbed the place up nicely. Its a "boutique" hotel so... all rooms are different and there are no fitted cupboards to store all your clothes so a bit quirky but did not bother us. The rooms work: good showers and so on. Breakfast was splendid with waiter service ( recommend the eggs benedict).Hotel has a "beach cub" down the road and will happly drive you there. Again highly recommend: Vasco (?) is the master at cocktails and the sea food is excellent. Definitley spend 2 euro on the boat trip acorss to Spain where Huelva has many excellent tapas bars and streets to explore. Did I mention the bar? Its 100 years old and a lovely place to spend the evening. Bogdan will make you a great gin and tonic.
