Before I begin this review I would like to point out that my wife and I stayed in Servatur Casablanca in 2017 and rated the stay as 5* on Trip advisor and that was nothing less than the hotel deserved. We always had it in our head to return and had booked in 2020 however as was the case for most, this was ruined by covid. Undeterred we finally booked again for July 2023 to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. A decision which showed the level of high regard in which we held the accommodation. We opted for a high floor room, with jacuzzi on balcony and breakfast included. The room was spacious, air conditioning worked well and the balcony / hot tub area was superb. We were very happy for the first half of the holiday. However on the 6th night we began to have issues within the room with regular citings of cockroaches. This was a concern to us because we had purposely been closing the balcony door throughout our stay as put simply, if we did not, the air conditioning did not run and we wanted to come in to a cool room when returning from our balcony. On night 6 we had 2 cockroaches in our room. I disposed of them and thought to monitor the situation. On night 7 we had 5 cockroaches in our room, 3 of which I disposed of, 2 ran under the skirting boards before I could catch. This was after 1 am so I went to reception to explain the problem. The receptionist on this evening was very apologetic and helpful. She advised that two other patrons had also complained of problems on 6th floor and advised there had been some fumigation completed out the back and sometimes this forced cockroaches inwards to rooms. She offered to move us to 1st floor until the following morning when we would be placed in to a room with high floor and large balcony with bath tub. We packed and moved our belongings at around 1.45 am and headed to first floor. A severe inconvenience but we were faced with no alternative. We didn't sleep great as there was a fear of cockroaches on all floors as I had seen a dead one in toilet in first floor when using it while at pool. The following morning we were moved to the third floor, specifically room 309. This had a tub on balcony but was not on a high floor, the balcony was smaller and the room was in a poor condition. To compound it there was a strong smell from the drain. We were not happy and raised it to staff member on reception. Unfortunately on this occasion the receptionist (who has been described in review before this) was unhelpful, arrogant and passive aggressive. She advised the room was exactly the same. We invited her to compare the 2 rooms however she laughed and refused. We requested a room on a high level to the standard at which we paid for. She advised the only room available was the room we had vacated however she advised that they had deployed staff to fumigate the room and we would be welcome to inspect if it we wished to return. We went back to room 607 and to the eye it looked and smelt like a deep clea
