Les petites attentions sont importantes en matière d’hospitalité, dès notre arrivée un plateau d’accueil composé de fromages et de fruits frais nous attend et une bouteille de vin blanc est à notre disposition dans le frigo de la chambre, on voit tout de suite que Peter et Nina savent recevoir. La localisation du gîte un peu à l’écart de Taupo est un réel avantage pour profiter du calme et du silence. Le niveau de confort d’équipement et la propreté impeccable des lieux sont les garanties d’un séjour réussi. Nous avons séjourné deux nuits au Chalet Eiger et malgré une météo très humide nous garderons un souvenir fabuleux de cette étape. Nous recommanderions vivement cet établissement à notre entourage si besoin.

We were lucky enough to spend a couple of nights at Chalet Eiger as part of our Honeymoon trip and we do not have adequate words to express how much we enjoyed our experience there. It's the perfect distance away from town so you can soak in the peace and quiet of your surroundings and gorgeous views but a quick drive to be in the middle of everything Taupo has to offer. Chalet Eiger was premium hospitality - Nina and Peter are such a delight and we were so sad to leave them! They have created a beautiful, warm and elevated experience and we feel so honored to have had them share their home with us. It's really a place where you feel like you can completely unplug, have a glass of wine, some good food and really appreciate where you are. We can't wait to go back!

A truly excellent stay, right from the initial welcome. Courteous hosts, excellent breakfasts, beautiful property, and stunning views. We have no reservation in HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this property - it surpassed expectations.

Me and my husband had the pleasure staying at Chalet Eiger over Christmas for two nights and what an incredible stay we had. Both Nina and Peter are the most hospitable hosts and and made our stay very special. Breakfast and Christmas Day dinner was amazing, it was lovely to have a home cooked meal and Nina is a wonderful cook! I couldn’t recommend staying at Chalet Eiger enough. It’s a beautiful place to stay and experience the wonders Taupo. Thank you again both Nina and Peter, we’ll never forget our time with you for Christmas and how lovely it was. Laura & Joe x

After a most wonderful stay at Chalet Eiger, our next priority is trying to set a date for a return visit. This really was a magical holiday in every way. From Peter's warm welcome, Nina's fantastic cooking, their hospitality and great conversation made for an all round excellent experience. The Chalet and surrounding countryside are beautiful and the recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants were spot on. Till next time, Peter and Nina.

Wow what a fantastic location and property. Just ten minutes drive from lots of restaurants and attractions of Taupō. Peter and Nina kindly upgraded us to a room with a view of the lake. The room was very well furnished and they kindly left us complimentary bottle of wine, cheese board and soft drinks which we enjoyed in the guest lounge. Breakfast was delicious - fabulous selection of fresh fruit, granola and freshly cooked breakfast to order. Nina provided us lots of local recommendations for our trip for attractions and restaurants. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stop on our honeymoon!

Nina and Peter's little Chalet was delightful. Bella and Rufus were the perfect cuddle buddies in the morning while Nina prepared breakfast. Would highly recommend a stay here. Easy access to Taupo area but out of the way and quiet!

Everything about Chalet Eiger is absolutely top class. From the welcome from Peter to the meals prepared by Nina are designed to make you feel at home. An example is the stocked fridge in your room (wine beers soft drinks & water). Complementary! The breakfast cooked by the lovely Nina is as good as I’ve ever had. Anything you want, cooked to order. We had an evening meal which was like dinner party in their house. Pre meal drinks with Peter and lovely home cooking by Nina. (She is a real star) The meal included all wine. I cannot recommend Chalet Eiger high enough. Amazing.

We will be back ! Wonderful meals as we chose to dine in. Excellent service. & Cleanliness.Good wine & welcome platter. Really enjoyed the spa bath too. Will be recommending the Chalet to friends.⁹

We spent two nights in Chalet Eiger in January. The location is stunning and Peter and Nina are fabulous and welcoming hosts. The views from the hotel are stunning and the breakfasts which are home cooked by Nina are excellent, the best breakfast we had in NZ ! The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well appointed with some lovely treats in the fridge which were complimentary. We had a lovely time. Highly recommended.

Super clean and comfortable. Fabulous room and guest accommodation. View of the Lake and situated only ten minutes drive in the peaceful area of Acacia Bay. Peter & Nina great hosts - Nina is a wonderful cook. Recommend for those who like life’s luxuries!

Stayed for 3 nights and had a fabulous time. Bedroom and bathroom very spacious and to a very high spec. Beautiful view of the lake from up high on the hill. The guys were very attentive and we were treated to a superb breakfast every day. Can’t recommend here highly enough - you will have a great time !

Our experience at Chalet Eiger was nothing like we have had before, from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, Nina and Peter were absolutely lovely and so easy to talk too and made us feel comfortable the whole time we were there, We were there for our ‘minimoon’ and it definitely was our home away from home for the 2 nights we were there, The food was absolutely to die for and the wine was simply delicious!! The whole atmosphere was very welcoming! Our room ‘ruapehu’ featuring a twin spa bath was so relaxing as was the extra large super king bed, the views from our room were amazing, looking out at the lake and the mountains over looking the grapevine seating area and gardens. I would definitely highly recommend staying here, it is a lovely experience and perfect spot for some time out and Peter made venturing into town in the evening easier by offering to drop us off. We will absolutely be back!! We had the greatest time ! Thank you both very much again.

We wish to thank Peter and Nina for having provided us with a very hospitable stay at Chalet Eiger Lodge! The property is well managed and meticulously decorated for Christmas. The view of the garden and part of Lake Taupo from the sitting room and our room is stunning. The breakfast prepared by Nina was sumptuous and delicious! We had a great time staying there!
