とても親切にしていただきました。一人での利用でしたが、広く快適でした。トイレやバスルームは共用ですので、そこが気にならない方はお勧めします。

My New Zealand trip was largely 1 night stays and a mix of B&Bs and motels. But I had 3 nights here in Christchurch. Great welcome from the host with loads of tips on what to do and where to go. Breakfast was another highlight with plentiful amounts of food and drink and the chance to chat with other guests. Plus a lift to the Tranzalpine train on my departure day. It was busy and my room only had a shared bathroom, a rare choice for me, but I coped and never had to wait more than a few minutes.

Fantastic host great accomodation. Wonderful breakfast cereal and toast with international travelers. Host go above and beyond to be helpful and thoughtful highly recommend great location walking distance from all sorts of foods looked after our car for us. Genuine people

This is one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed - it represents everything about the legendary New Zealand Hospitality that you have ever imagined. Run by the owner, Chet, who delivers a truly personal and welcoming experience for every guest. I stayed for four nights and every morning there was a breakfast banquet of fresh fruits, cereals, milks for everyone ( soy, oat , dairy) , freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly made coffee, hot toast and so many condiments to chose from . You sit round a large table which is social and interesting to find out what others are planning. On the one morning when I had a very early start, a breakfast was placed carefully outside my room for me to enjoy before setting off at 5.30am - such thoughtful service. My room was the little ‘sleep out’ which is a super cosy ensuite room with a lovely bed and excellent shower as well - set in the carefully designed courtyard, which has a lovely small pond and flowers and plants that clearly the local birds and bees really enjoy too. A very relaxing place to sit and unwind in after a busy day . In terms of location, when you arrive Chet takes you through a carefully, prepared map and gives you a link to a web page he has created full of useful tips and hints . The public bus system in Christchurch makes it very easy and cheap to get all over the place . Chet also offers a laundry service, but please remember this is not a laundromat, so you if you need something urgently then look for that, but if you have a day or two then your laundry is done and returned all very efficiently. So in summary, if you want to experience real New Zealand hospitality, look no further than Designer Cottage !

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at the Designer cottage in Christchurch. It was our longest stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast during our month long vacation in New Zealand. Chet and Steve are incredible hosts. They provided us with very detailed advice on where to go and what to do, to make the best of our stay in Christchurch. We did everything that they recommended and we are so happy that we did! We had a marvellous time. The location of this bed and breakfast is excellent, close to the center of Cristchurch and with easy access to the main autoroutes. Our room was very clean as well as the dining room and kitchen with a fridge and a coffee machine to which we had free access. We also had free Wi-Fi. The garden was so beautiful and well kept that we loved to spend time outside every evening to have a glass of New Zealand wine. There even is a water fountain that makes a very soothing sound that helps to ease your stress and sleep better. The breakfasts were delicious and plentifull. I loved the selection of New Zealand products so much that I went and bought several of them to bring home with us at the end of our trip. Chet and Steve are genuine, good people who do their very best to make their guests feel at home. We were sad to leave our home away from home! We highly recommend this unique Bed and breakfast and sincerely hope we'll be able to come back to New Zealand one day and stay at the Designer cottage once again.

Lovely 3 night stay. Very warm welcome on arrival. Very comfortable and clean room, reasonably spacious. Good WiFi. Nice kitchen area with great coffee. Pleasant atmosphere at breakfast chatting with the hosts and the other guests. Really appreciated all the tips, particularly on places to eat and drink in that area of Christchurch.

We stayed a night here to attend a concert. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was just perfect for us. Steve and Chet were excellent hosts. There is a nice private garden setting in a quiet location. We stayed in an ensuite room which was also very private. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely stay again!

De bed & breakfast heeft leuke en gezellige ingerichte kamers met heerlijke bedden, in de winter zijn de bedden voorzien van een elektriche deken. Koffie en thee zijn gratis.Het onbijt is ook heerlijk, Gast heer chet en steve zijn echt geweldig ze weten veel van de omgeving en geven veel tips. De Bed & Breakfast ligt op 25 min lopen van het centrum van Christchurch ( goed te doen ) Het is een echte aanrader.
