鹽西南岩飯店(Salt @ South West Rocks)

My husband and I stayed here for two nights to break up our road trip back from Byron to Sydney. I cannot recommend Salt highly enough. The apartment was lovely, beautifully furnished and very well equipped with everything you could need. The sofa and the bed were extremely comfortable and the location is wonderful with views from the deck straight onto the river with beautiful sunsets on both nights,. The grounds are lovely and the visiting kangaroos were an added bonus. The site is very quiet and peaceful despite being near the Riverside Inn. Our stay here exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay again.

We love SWR and have stayed with salt last summer and had a lovley experience. The friendliness from Gail was appreciated. However this time we were really disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. When we arrived the floor was covered in long hair and sand inside the unit. We informed the owners who kindly cleaned the floor. The dishwasher was full of rotten food. The washing machine and drier was full of sand from previous guests. All our washing was full of sand from the dirty appliances meaning my husband had to clean both appliances before use. The outdoor furniture was dirty and there was food left on the floor from the previous guests on the outdoor area floor under the table. The door handle to the Villa was broken and there was a smeared bug on the wall in the hallway entry. The pool area wasn’t cleaned well or at all during our stay, the floor and outdoor table was dirty and so was the pool fencing. We were really disappointed and unfortunately it created so much additional cleaning that we were hoping to avoid on holidays- and for the money we spent it should have at least been clean.

We loved our 2 bedroom villa overlooking the water. It was a lovely spot to spend a night even when the cold wind and constant drizzle kept us from making the most of the spot. I wish I had brought my swimmers to try out the heated magnesium pool. It looked very tempting. A short stroll to the tavern next door under the brolly ensured a tasty pub meal before a good night’s sleep in the very comfy beds. My mother insists it was the best night’s sleep she has had in months. Overall a great place to stay that could be even better with a few additions which I would expect for the price - somewhere to hang the hand towel in the bathroom as well as a few extra hooks or another towel rail, bath sheets instead of the small towels supplied, shower caps (like a good hotel), a door mat so you don’t traipse dirt into the beautifully styled villa and finally an outdoor heater so the deck can be enjoyed even in winter while you take in the view.

Salt was just about perfect. This was the middle of a 3 week holiday and we stayed as a family in one of the 4 person villas. The place is spotlessly clean, has everything you need and the comms with management couldn’t have been better. Amazing views across the estuary ( we even saw dolphins) and the little extras when you arrive meant we were settled in, in minutes. SW Rocks is an amazing place to visit, an absolute gem on the East coast.

We have just returned home from another wonderful stay at Salt. Salt is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We once again enjoyed the peace and quiet of our surroundings, enjoyed watching the wildlife and the pool was much appreciated during our stay. A big thank you to the housekeeping ladies, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed. The cleanliness of our villa is a true reflexion of your efforts. We shall return.

We loved this property. Such a nice surprise to discover this place which far exceeded our expectations. The moment we arrived we were settled and comfortable. The villa was fresh and crisp and full of high quality furniture and appliances. The property is in a great secluded peaceful location, just a little way out of town, each villa facing the magnificent Macleay River, with its golden sunsets. And there’s a pub, literally a minute or two away, which was very quiet, despite one of the nights being a Saturday. There’s no reception at Salt, and therefore entry codes and key safe numbers are sent via SMS on the day of your arrival, which all worked very smoothly. We have stayed all over the world and very few self catering places are as nice as this. Highly recommend it and the area around SW Rocks generally, as there’s so much to do here.

Great location right on the river and the Cabins were gorgeous and very well set up and spotlessly clean ! Amelia was exceptional looking after us from booking to checking in. Very handy short stroll to Riverside Tavern for a great meal. We enjoyed 2 nights here in a 2 bedroom cabin but thought it was a little "pricey" for two people.

We stayed in a fabulous cabin overlooking the river for 2 days to celebrate our 30th Wedding anniversary. Arrived to find a bottle of wine, chocolates, card and a balloon. The cabin was so comfy with a great bed and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Thank you ***le for being so helpful and attentive. We will be Back. 💙

We stayed here for my 50th birthday. It was the perfect the 2 bedroom apartment was amazing. Couldn’t ask for more. The facilities were great, the apartment was beautifully appointed, clean and very comfortable
