金普頓凱瑞飯店(Kimpton Canary Hotel)

I’ll start by saying this is the first review I have ever written about anything… This hotel is beautiful. The valet and the front staff were lovely. The rooftop pool was perfect and the location was just right. However- the walls of the hotel rooms are PAPER THIN. You can hear absolutely everything. When we first checked in at 430pm, there was housekeeping working on the room next door and it sounded like a construction site (we actually to confirm it there was)- vacuums hitting the walls, furniture being moved, stuff being dropped onto the floors- but the worst was very loud conversations about things that should not be discussed in a work environment at a $500/night hotel. In order to mask the noise, we put on some music in our room (at 5pm mind you) and 10 minutes later we got a knock on the door reporting the music was too loud! The next morning we woke up to our neighbors laughing hysterically and blasting Taylor swift (and hey, I’m a swiftie myself), but the loud cackling is not something I want to be woken up to on vacation. I am really sad to say I will not stay here again. It was definitely not worth spending almost $500 for one night.

Wonderful boutique hotel in probably the best location in Santa Barbara — with all the amenities you need and an excellent hotel restaurant.

我最大的問題是缺乏可用的工作人員：你可以看出整個酒店都是由骨幹人員經營的，從缺乏合適的泳池毛巾到前台一個人試圖管理婚禮和常客。我們的房間在辦理入住後 45 分鐘才準備好，當我去取消房間時，我被掛斷了。游泳池比預期的要小一點，但問題還沒有像躺椅旁邊的大型汽油發電機（？）那麼大，發電機可以啟動 45 分鐘。它也噴出大量黑煙，空氣中瀰漫著汽油味。 我確信這是一家不錯的酒店，只是我從來沒有住在那裡。

Usually love this place & most Kiptons. Upon arrival we realized that massive work being done on hotel - painting & such. Place is messy & dirty. The painting made it so we couldn’t open blinds & constant noise. The hotel didn’t offer any discounts due to the problem we had to ask. Also floors not really clean. Bar/ restaurant had no real schedule just closed whenever it wanted to do so

I booked this property for my 60th birthday. I could not even find the hotel as it was wrapped in scaffolding and under construction. When I finally found it after 3 tries and arrived I was told that there would be no water and i had to use the gym next door, the pool was closed, the rooftop was closed and they removed the hot tub. The restaurant was also closed. The plugs in the bathroom did not work. What they did not tell me was they start construction at 8 am. I woke up on my birthday with a jack hammer literally above my room. the noise was so loud I could not stay in the room. I was booked for 2 nights, told the front desk. the only thing they comped was the food charge. they said they would notify **********, to get a refund for the second night, yet they did not and actually charged me 200.00 for the food. I am local, but will never go back.

Check in took a while Bar tender was focusing on an event downstairs so wasn’t very attentive. He disappeared for 20 mins so we couldn’t order another round of drinks Heating wasn’t working in our room the first night and it was freezing in the room. Maintenance fixed it the next morning

The staff, common areas, and restaurant were 5 star, what I was expecting with a 700$/night price tag. It would’ve been nice to know that the exterior of the building was completely encased in scaffolding and netting, but I understand that maintenance needs to happen. The room however, is why I only gave 3 stars. It was small, uninspired, a mix match of old and scratched, dented and damaged furniture. The bare floor was cold and needed a rug to cozy up the place . The bed was high up , but very comfortable. Could not get the tv to work. The only amenity in the room was a bottle of water with a $10 price tag. The shower had very little water pressure and is badly in need of replacing the shower heads. The interior of the lobby is stunning, clean, and has very good vibes. The staff was beyond friendly and competent. The restaurant has exquisite food. The rooftop pool seems like a lovely place to spend the day, as long as the sun is out.
