Our experience at this hotel was extremely A+++, Anthony and Angie both Front Desk specialist were so profesional and made our stay comfortable. They went out of their way to ensure our tours were well arranged and our breakfast in the hotel was jsut excellent. The happy hour was great as well. The hotel is extremely clean. All of the staff were courteous and ensured we knew where we were going. It was hard to come home becasue it felt like we were home away from home. The Manager too came by and ensured we were having a great stay.

Stayed here on a tour of Costa Rica, for a total of three nights on arrival and between our extension. Typical city hotel, very comfy and large rooms with big bathrooms, plenty of toiletries etc. Lovely staff, although not very attentive in the main restaurant! We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant - all good. Also a great meal in the Japanese restaurant. It was quite cool, they keep the aircon on quite high and the weather was windy and cloudy so turned it off in our room! Nothing much nearby, very convenient for airport but only a supermarket and McDonalds within walking distance. The park was ok for a quick walk, only a few yards away.

旅行穿過哥斯達黎加之前，在這住了一晚。預訂時候的房價是92歐元。性價比很重要。有兩張大床。房間很寬敞，後面是通風井，但是很安靜。這是在巴拿馬度過了幾個吵鬧的夜晚之後我很關注的一點。房間很乾凈。有一個安全、足夠大的浴室。空調運作良好。有點兒“嗡嗡聲”從通風井傳來，但是不能完全關閉窗戶。這些玻璃條構造的窗戶，不能隔音，但是在這非常舒適的床上睡得很好。wifi很好。員工很高效，但不是過分友好/樂於助人。如果再來聖何塞的話，還會再次光臨的，但是下次希望直接從機場到目的地。聖何塞不是最漂亮的城市。

Great location in the heart of San Jose, within walking distance from all the city’s attractions. As a Hilton member, we were recognised with a great upgrade to a nice and modern room. The daily breakfast was sumptuous with local and western options. The evening happy hour was incredible and the best selection of drinks we’ve ever been to. Would also like to thank several staff who helped us during our stay - Anthony the bellhop, and Carlos + Marcela, severs at the hotel’s restaurant. One suggestion is for the reception counter staff to be more friendly and approachable. The perception we got was they were cold and rushed.

- I sent an email to the hotel the day before to check if they are able to send a shuttle to the airport to pick me up (just to avoid the stress of figuring out transportation), but they only replied once I landed. It wasn’t worth for me to wait for them to come and pick me up. - The room was loft style and very spacious: two stories with two full bathrooms, and kitchenette. I didn’t need them, but they were available. However, the shower upstairs next to the bedroom was missing a door, water was splashing out and making everywhere wet. Also, the shower didn’t drain well. It was gross to have my feet in dirty water… same with the sink, water wasn’t draining well. The hotel provided one hand towel and two large towels. They were old and rugged. I went out to buy my own. The bed was comfortable! So were the pillows & sheets! Thank you for that! - I’m training for a marathon and it was important to me that the hotel had a gym so that I can keep up with my training. This hotel had one treadmill and it wasn’t working. I guess next time I need to check before I book. - My room doesn’t have a window and hence very dark, gloomy, and depressing. Luckily I don’t have to spend too much time here. I told the receptionist and she said that that’s the room that was assigned to me. I let it go. - The hotel is in downtown and walking distance from all major “things to do” in San Jose city. But I have to say that the pictures online look a lot better than the reality of the hotel. - Would I stay here again? Only if I need to sleep somewhere for one night.

I am writing to share my recent experience at Hotel Cultura Plaza in San Jose, Costa Rica, and to caution those considering a reservation at this establishment. During my stay at the hotel, I encountered a significant issue with the room I was assigned. Unfortunately, some of the rooms at this hotel do not have windows and resemble prison cells rather than comfortable accommodations. Understandably, I refused to accept such a room and immediately contacted Booking.com to seek a resolution. To my disappointment, the hotel displayed a lack of cooperation, even after three hours of mediation with Booking.com. Despite our best efforts, the hotel refused to address the issue adequately, leading to the cancellation of my reservation. Furthermore, the hotel has also declined to refund the payment I made for the booking. Throughout this process, their responses were consistently rude and unhelpful, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. In addition to the room issue, I feel it is important to mention that the dining room for breakfast at Hotel Cultura Plaza is extremely small, akin to a small bar with only about four tables. This limited space may make it challenging to find a seat during busy periods, and it can detract from the overall dining experience. Given my disappointing experience and the hotel's uncooperative attitude, I want to urge prospective customers to exercise caution when considering a reservation at Hotel Cultura Plaza. Please be aware of the lack of windows in some rooms, the prison cell-like appearance, and the limited dining space for breakfast. It is my hope that by sharing this message, I can help others make informed decisions and avoid potential frustrations. As consumers, we should be able to expect a certain level of quality and service when choosing accommodations, and unfortunately, Hotel Cultura Plaza fell short of these expectations. 酒店位於聖何塞市中心，樓下就是一條主要的步行街，吃飯逛街很方便，可能是因為國家的原因，酒店附近很舊的感覺，晚上出門感覺有點不安全。 酒店是老式風格的裝修，酒店大廳在二樓，很復古風格。早餐相對豐盛，但是吃了兩天後也感覺沒什麼可吃的，可能是中國胃不習慣吧。水果，果汁，咖啡，牛奶很多，這一點很贊。 酒店的衛生間衹有淋浴頭，很不方便。另外飲用水是酒店自己裝的，總不能讓人放心去喝。

not a bad location. a bit dated. 6th floor balcony rooms are quite nice, interior rooms not so much. beds were comfortable, shower had good water temp but water pressure was inconsistent. hotel was clean as was the room. staff were helpful. no bar or ******, both appear to have closed a few years back. music is played loudly in the lobby until about 1230-1am which reaches a lot of the hotel rooms. not enough electric plugs (or any usb plugs). needed to unplug room phone or clock to charge phone, ipad, etc. food was not bad and priced well. not a bad place to stay but there are probably better for the same price. If you like having a balcony that you can walk out on to and have fresh air in your room i would recommend. AC and fan worked well with out too much noise

Like every Selina Hostel there is love in every detail - decoration, lights, good furniture. We had the deluxe room with a lot of space, a table, a sofa, own bathroom and good comfort. The bed was very cosy. We had no warm water for 2 days in our room, but the staff reacted instantly, tried to fix it and we got a free breakfast and some money back. Clean kitchen, enogh fridge space and a cool sofa space in the living kitchen. In total we had a nice and relaxing stay amd would definitly recommand this hostel.
