白鹿賓館(The White Hart)

I stayed in Room #1 on November 16, 2023 and did not sleep a wink. While the property is clean and well maintained and the service is excellent, the room in which I was placed had a faulty heating system that grinded and rattled all night such that I did not sleep a wink. For nearly $350 a night I expected so much more and was very disappointed. I mentioned my situation to the front desk and suggested that they have the heating unit serviced but I have received no apology or follow up from management about my stay. I am very disappointed and doubly so because I had high expectations for my stay. I even have a video of the unit in action which I shared with the front desk and emailed to the White Hart. Not a whiff of a reply.

We've stayed in the White Hart before, and have always loved the ambiance, rooms, and food. However this time was so disappointing. We stayed in room 32, which was a lower level King bed suite in the separate cottage. The room itself was lovely. However, I would never stay here again. Starting in the early evening, and then again first thing in the morning, every single footstep in the upstairs room could be heard as though it was a herd of elephants. We finally called the front desk, who tried to help, and when the upstairs guests did not answer their phone, the staff member came over to knock on their door. They did have children who must have been constantly in motion, although the guests denied it. They may not have realized that in such an old buidling, every step can be heard below, and even when told, did not think it appropriate to try and restrain their children. While the hotel staff expressed their apologies (in the evening, and again when I mentioned it at checkout), nothing was done. Recognizing that guest behavior is out of the control of management, these upper floor rooms should not allow young children (unless some sort of sound proofing is added). These rooms are not inexpensive, and for a special evening away, we were sorely disappointed. Update: Mgmt did recognize our suboptimal experience and refunded us a portion of our stay, which was the appropriate response for an inn of their quality.

Our experience with the White Hart Inn has been second to none every single time. This place is truly a hidden gem in the Northwest corner of Connecticut. More than the amazing rooms, the beautiful area, and the unbelievable food, the thing that has kept us coming back has always been the people. Dan, Connor, Ryan, Jess, Mark, Caitlyn, and so so many more make you truly feel like family. We have come up a handful of times for dinners and overnight stays and each person has made an impact to last a lifetime. Their generosity, kindness and warmth is unmatched. We cannot say enough good things about them! We feel like a part of their family every time we see them. The Inn itself has the quintessential New England appeal, acting as a gathering area for the town and filled with happy patrons. The rooms are spacious with classic charm and modern amenities. Breakfast is included with the stay and just like dinner it is an absolute delight bite after bite. We could not think of a better place, with more incredible people. We plan to go back time and time again and we would urge you to visit with the highest of recommendations.

They support domestic abuse and silences survivors. Domestic abusers are welcome here more than survivors. Absolutely a disgusting establishment if you can even call it that . DO BETTER . DO BETTER!!!!!

Charming and comfortable room in a beautiful location. Check-in and check-out were effortless. The food is excellent, and the common areas have an inviting, like-home vibe. We had a very relaxing time just sitting on the porch and reading a book.

Dans une petite ville du New England, un hôtel plein de charme et de personnalité, proposent de jolies chambres agréables et fonctionnelles. Record du monde dans ma chambre: pas moins de 8 oreillers sur mon (grand) lit. Très sympa la petite cafétéria pour prendre son petit déjeuner avec des produits frais, le prix étant inclus dans celui de la chambre De jolis salons pour lire ou travailler Insonorisation pas top, on entend les voisins s du dessus marcher ou des visiteurs parler un peu fort en réception (pas terrible a 5 heures du mat). La structure traditionnelle en bois n’a donc pas que des avantages

Awesome customer service. By mistake, I made a reservation and called back within 24h to cancel it. I tried calling over three days before anyone answered. They claimed they needed a $25 reprocessing fee. I asked what it was for, but they couldn’t explain. Fraudulent, avoid!
