Terrible and SHOCKING experience at Bon Ton Suite. On the first night after using the toilet, I turned the handle to leave and it would not open. It was evidently broken to begin with and there was absolutely no way of unlocking the door from the inside. I was stuck in the small bathroom, shouting for help out of the window to surrounding appartments for almost an hour, but no one heard. Thankfully my friend then arrived back to the room and was able to let me out from the outside. I was panicked because I had no idea how long I would be locked in and it was very claustrophobic. This is a HUGE health and safety hazard. Imagine if someone had been travelling alone, they would have been there until someone eventually came to find them. When I reported this to the receptionist in the morning (there was no reception at night), he showed no customer service skills. He was dismissive and disbelieving of what happened, and annoyed that we didn't report this immediately after it happened the night before. After a lot of back and forth, the hotel eventually gave us 20% off of only one night. We were also highly disturbed by this note pinned to the door. Not necessarily the fault of the hotel, but I did not sleep peacefully after seeing this..... (see image)
