Beautiful location, fantastic accommodation (land pods so comfortable and fun!!!) . Staff are so friendly, helpful and great with the kids. Could not have done more to help. Bathrooms, communal areas and camping site perfectly clean and tidy. Site really quiet but with a great a**osphere and mix of people and kids loved it here, also felt very safe due to gate and security lights. Must try this place, amazing value - a true hidden gem!!!

We were pleasantly surprised by this site - it was booked as a place to lay our heads for the night but the facilities, staff and location all surpassed expectations. We stayed in a very clean pod which came with comfy beds and cosy duvets with fresh linen. The outside space was great and safe for the children to run around. There was a loo close by which was useful for the middle of the night! We hadn't planned to eat at the hostel but ended up having both dinner and breakfast there and I'd really recommend it - the food was very nice (and very cheap!) and the booking system makes it easy - the food is ready pretty much as soon as you arrive for your slot. The breakfast was really good - fluffy croissants followed by a full English. Toilets/showers/communal areas all very clean. The views were incredible, it's a lovely spot, and the drive over the moors to get there was stunning. Finally, the staff were brilliant - really friendly, efficient and helpful.

Enjoyed my stay in the camping pod with my dog and a friend. The pod has 1 double plug socket which was useful and an outside light. Make sure you bring insect repellant if you're staying in the summer. Nice and friendly a**osphere. It would be great if YHA offered more of the pods at their hostels.

Tremendous YHA; very helpful staff, lovely off the beaten track location. It is quiet and a real gem. The rooms are neat, fresh, clean and comfortable. Very nice reasonably priced simple evening meal served. Good Self catering kitchen although a little small it is manageable.

If you are wanting somewhere with lovely views then this youth hostel will not disappoint. You definitely need your own transport as there is absolutely nothing near by so you must come well prepared!

This is our second visit to the hostel. The hostel is set in a lovely location and there are plenty of places to visit or to cycle around. We stayed in a pod which contained a heater. For convenience, I took a travel kettle although the kitchens are well equipped. We also sat round the campfire in the pod village, a great way to meet people. Staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean. We will go back again.

Beware of the wind. We stayed in a landpod with our two young children, we have stayed in these before and they are amazing, in good weather I would highly recommend. The problem this time is that the wind was so so strong and did not settle the whole night. Because the landpod have metal bars, it was extremely loud, it felt like trying to sleep through severe turbulence. The forecast said the wind was due to continue, so needless to say we sadly cut short our stay and left at 9am the following morning. We did ask if they had any rooms inside but since our 2 yr old cannot sleep in a bunk, there were no options in there suitable/available. Having left in plenty of time, I thought the hostel would be accommodating in refunding our second night. Every landpod was free and we had paid for the one night. I was really shocked at how awfully my request was handled. I was told to ring head office, I was on the phone to them for 15 mins and subsequently told to e-mail customer services, I then didn't hear back for over 2 weeks, to be told that " we offered you a room in the hostel therefore we cannot give you a refund" which is completely false and very disappointing. I understand they have to make money but it was truely not a suitable nights accommodation and seems very unreasonable.

Excellent value. The rooms, loos and showers are spotlessly clean. Loads of hot water. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good, basic menu for dinner with wholesome food in good quantity. Breakfast was outstanding.

Booked a one night stay for myself and my daughter in the sale. Been wanting to visit her for a while and this seemed like a good opportunity. After a day walking the dales in the snow we made our way to the hostel which has a great location in some amazing scenery. Check in was quick and easy but given the small car being made even smaller due to snow drifts we parked outside on the road. Our room was fresh and clean and newly decorated. Facilities were good. We made use of the self catering kitchen for both evening meal and breakfast. Shame one of the two ovens was out of order as this did cause a queue. Lounge was comfy and in the morning had great views across the valley. Dry room was decent and took the edge off my sodden boots. Plenty of outside cabins and I tip my hat to the people doing a BBQ in the snow. That was some commi**ent shown. All in all a good stay.
