曼雷薩城堡飯店(Manresa Castle)

I thought it would be cool to stay in a castle on our road trip. I'm not sure that Manresa Castle quite lived up to expectations. The history of the building is fascinating. Some of the current design/ decor choices in both the common spaces and in our room are a bit interesting. Despite there being a few common areas, we didn't feel comfortable hanging out in any of them for various reasons. Our room itself was clean, and we did have a view.

A quirky and cool old place that reminds me of hotels in Europe back in the day. Nice room and comfortable bed. A newly remodeled bathroom. Some quirks that might cause problems for some people like a step up to the bathroom and a step to watch out for when leaving lobby--but we enjoyed our stay, and the price was right.

The restaurant was closed! Like, forever. No restaurant, bar or lounge. We were there right before New Year’s Eve and the DJ was practicing—very loud, would not want to stay on a party night unless I was there for the party!! Rooms are very musty, but overall a beautiful place, lovely little library area (would be nice if you could drink coffee in there), comfortable, easy parking, a fine stay.

Dirtiest room ever, changed rooms it was equally gross. The restaurant closes very and makes no exceptions, not to mention no room service. If you leave you have to call the worker on shift to get back in at night. Bathroom had hair all over floor, the refrigerator was broken. Staff was kind.

Just don’t go there. There is nothing for you but a musky smelly room. Better off in a local shelter. It’s unsafe with open access, no staff who is trained . Flimsy doors to your rooms. No amenities at all.

Had I known that Manresa Castle was not in the very good shape of a Replica Castle or that the party would continue into the early hours, we would have never paid to stay there. We did not get the room that we rented. Oh, we got the room number but not the nice deluxe queen suite that we saw on the website. With the exception of the main check-in lobby and the library/ dining room, there is nothing in the hotel that holds up to the photos online with little furnishings to match the period era. Our room price was $254.75 ( double what the current charges are now on their website so they must of double the room charge because of the Halloween party ) with military discount. I rented the room (actually upgraded from my original reservation after a cancelation so we could get 2 beds ) by the pictures that are on the hotel website and other sites like Booking .com based on a comfortable sitting room as well that it offer two beds and maybe a ghost name Kate. It would had been really nice if the furniture had actually still been in the room and we would had hot water in the bathroom as well as heat . There was no place to hang our clothes or unpack our suitcase except for a single hook we found on the back of the door because the Wardrobe the dresser and comfortable vintage chairs were missing from the said deluxe suite. There was also no Hot water in our bathroom. The beds mattress where not comfortable due to age and there was a group of plug wires hanging over the heater, preventing us from using the unsafe heater. I did go downstairs and ask the staff if it was safe to use and was told yes, but when the wires became warm to touch, I was forced to shut off the heater. We didn't think that the dj noise would go up to the third floor or that the hotel didn't take all guest into consideration and maybe ending the party at midnight or at the very least lower the volume of the music actually the volume went up. We were locals coming from town but actually paying regular guests traveling 2 hours to get there. If we had been told that the party was going to be wild on all 3 floors and into guest rooms with loud music noise filling our rooms to early morning preventing us from sleeping we would Never had come there. We would have stayed in one of the nice hotels in town. We weren't coming for the Halloween party since we didn't know about it until after we made our reservation but we did attend the party for two hours but we were back into our room by 10:30 pm. This trip was to be a mother daughter weekend in celebration of my 68th birthday. When I tried to check out this morning and talk about our stay, no one could be bothered to open the curtain to talk to me. We drove  2 hours to experience and see a Vintage Castle hotel, which other than the lobby, nothing about this hotel, says charming. BEWARE Ok so all we can say is Manresa Castle is not a very good Replica of a Castle . With the exception of the main check in lobby and the dining room there is nothing in the hotel that gives you the feeling you were in the past or a castle. Very ran down and in great need of being Redecorated with Furnishings to match the period Even with the ticket price to the Halloween party it was over priced by $100 (I paid $255 with military discount) I rented the room (Actually upgraded from my original reservation with a added charge)by the pictures that are on the website and other sites based on comfortable seating as well that it offer two beds and maybe a ghost name Kate. It would had been really nice if the furniture would had actually still been in the room. Our chairs were two wood kitchen table chairs and our bedside table has a pineapple looking lamp with no dresser in site . No place to hang your clothes except for a single hook we found on the back of the door because the Wardrobe that showed in the photos was missing as well. There was also no Hot water in our bathroom. The beds where not comfortable even with my mattress pad I take and are in need to be replaced. But the staff was wonderful and super sweet and the Halloween party was fun. The sp**** room was extremely clean. Very disappointing and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. At almost $255 we should had been able hot water to wash our hands at least and no I didn't report it last night or this morning because there wasn't anyone at the front desk this morning and the party had staff's attention selling tickets last night..

Everything about Manresa Castle is first-rate, from the staff to the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. The location is wonderfully quiet but close to downtown. Some of the rooms afford a great view of Puget Sound.

Property was clean, convenient and suited our needs for our stay in Port Townsend. All of the staff that we encountered during our stay was very friendly and helpful. They made it a pleasure to stay there. I would stay again if I am in the area.
