維拉飯店(La Villa)

Bâtisse pleine de charme, personnel adorable, et très bon restaurant (cuisine française raffinée). Le menu dégustation 7 plats est absolument à faire avec en plus un rapport qualité prix hors pair et c'est délicieux. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Il règne une ambiance chic et décontractée . C'est une belle adresse, très très bien située pour visiter Pondichéry. Belle piscine à l'étage. Chambre superbe, literie confortable, très fonctionnelle, mais pas celle choisie sur le site Booking et bruyante Nous avions opté pour la suite avec balcon qui devait se trouver à l'étage, et surement de l'autre côté. Nous avons eu une chambre au RDC, très belle, mais pas du tout au calme. Il y avait une micro terrasse face à un mur sans aucun intérêt et le verrou de la porte pour y accéder était dur à ***ipuler, sans compter qu'il n'y avait pas de poignée de tirage. Cette chambre étant située au niveau de la réception, nous entendions les voix des clients, la musique, mais le pire, les bruits de vaisselle des cuisines situées juste derrière notre salle d'eau, et ce jusqu'à + de 23H30 (minuit le 2ème soir). Réouverture à 6h30 pour les préparatifs du PDJ... pas cool Malgré cette partie de déception, c’est une adresse que je recom***de +++, et j’y retournerai avec plaisir

Sans doute l'hôtel que j'ai le plus aimé ces dernières années. Et pourtant, je voyage beaucoup. Une maison coloniale superbement restaurée au cœur d'un jardin foisonnant. Le calme et la sérénité en plein centre ville. Des matériaux naturels, le plan d'origine préservé, des espaces ouverts, de généreux divans, tout invite à prolonger le séjour. Les chambres, très spacieuses, sont résolument contemporaines et privilégient les matériaux naturels. Nous sommes au pays du bois et du granit. Il en résulte une grande harmonie. La plupart d'entre elles donnent sur la piscine. Quant à la cuisine, elle fait la part belle aux produits locaux et à la qualité dans la simplicité. La carte est réduite et bien pensée. Quant au service, il est d'une gentillesse et d'un raffinement remarquables.

Notre séjour à La Villa était parfait. À l’arrivée on st un peu déconcertés car les murs extérieurs sont très décrépits par rapport à ceux du magnifique lycée français juste en face. Nous avions la chambre sur le toit, spacieuse et bien protégée du soleil. Néanmoins un rafraîchissement des menuiseries en bois est à prévoir. La piscine au 1er étage est agréable et très chaude. Le jardin tropical (endroit du restaurant) est petit mais très beau. Le petit déjeuner servi à la table est aussi magnifique que délicieux. Continental mais oeufs et bacon croustillant… baguette et viennoiseries très bonnes. Le restaurant est divin. Service rapide, attentionné et très efficace. Une excellente adresse à Pondicherry. 6 chambres / suites seulement.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were excellent, the room very good as was the bathroom. The setting and location was spot on and we enjoyed eating in the courtyard and drinking tea on the veranda. We had laundry done which was reasonably priced and returned promptly. The food is excellent although there is the same menu for lunch and dinner with a limited choice for vegetarians so we also ate at the sister restaurant 5 mins walk away where there was a larger menu - also excellent. Our favourite town and hotel in the south. Why only 4 stars - because it had no decaf coffee, no white Indian wine in stock and the pillows were very lumpy so we did not sleep well.

Staying at La Villa Puducherry was a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. It was perfect to spend time in the pool after exploring the town in high temperatures. Eating in the illuminated garden at night was magical. The breakfasts were fantastic with fruit, pastries, and a choice of egg dishes. The evening meals were absolutely marvellous offering a variety of unusual French/Indian fusion food of an exceptional standard. We ate at the hotel almost every night although we did visit the sister hotel Villa Shanti for a few evenings where we had some excellent Indian meals. However, it is the staff that make this exclusive little hotel so special. Every single person working at La Villa went out of their way to make us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Lupin and Masee served breakfast each day with huge smiles and were always willing to chat. Shantha Raj the ***ager made sure everything was to our satisfaction and he and Hansa provided advice and immense information about the history and culture of the area which enhanced our knowledge and understanding. We stayed for 9 nights which gave us time to really explore the town and to relax into the unique atmosphere of La Villa. We enjoyed every minute of it and were very, very sad to leave.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, and we loved it. The hotel itself has a very calm and stylish feel, we enjoyed having our breakfasts served on the veran***, the staff are amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. We had dinner in the restaurant, twice, the food is fabulous, and has a lovely ambience, being in the walled garden. A very special place. Thank you.

A magical, inimitable and quaint hotel carrying the vibe of the Old Town. Unique, ro***tic and hidden from the outside world but at the same time in the middle of white town.a very convenient location. There are only 6 suits and children below the age of 12 are not allowed. Hence this place was best suited for us. We stayed here for one week for the 20th to 26th of March . We were welcomed with incomparable hospitality and lovely drinks after a long drive from Chennai to pondicherry. The feeling was is if we had arrived at our own residence. We stayed in the room Bridge to Heaven, which is on the second floor(top floor). Every morning, we were greeted by curious squirrels and lovely chirping of birds. The breakfast was scrumptious, to say the least(only continental). Bridge to Heaven has windows all over the room,so we had a 360 view of the pondicherry skyline.the washroom was huge, to our surprise it had a ceiling fan and a huge sliding door. The hotel boasts of timeless elegance and exceptional combination of architecture and divine cuisine, in perfect harmony. We also tried their Chefs tasting menu and loved it. Completely out of the world. What we loved the most was the exceptional service we enjoyed by the lovely staff in LA Villa. Never have we been so pampered in our lives. Thank you Kavita for all the lovely tales of this beautiful property and the patrons. Thank you to Shant for always been helpful and alert to our needs. Thank you to the wonderful team consisting of Laxmi(an absolute gem), Jay(the generous,bomb with the drinks he made) Bruno(so helpful), Maseulla(always welcomed us with a smile) We shall always cherish this trip and we look forward to the next time to visit LA Villa.

This hotel was one of the loveliest I’ve stayed in in India. The staff must be complimented - without exception, they were all so friendly and extremely helpful - Mr Shanth, Hansa, Am we, Masee, Ramesh, Vijay, Ashok - all totally delightful! The ambience of the hotel was calm and the design quiet and unshowy - very elegant. The chef deserves huge credit for the amazing breakfasts and the tuna taki was superb. Hansa introduced us to a delicious Hibiscus mocktail as well as arranging for me to go to a yoga studio locally… he went the extra mile which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend la Villa….. I certainly hope we can return there! Garden stunning too…

Absolutely brilliant! We are very hard to please and we tested them but this place is great. First thank you goes to 2 teams: 1) the chef from Nepal (sorry I don't know your name) and your kitchen team. A fantastic menu and tasting experience. Chef is such a lovely *** 2) Hans and team.
