凱法利尼亞灣宮飯店(Kefalonia Bay Palace)

Bella struttura , personale accogliente e gentile. Un po' di trascuratezza nella manutenzione del verde.

Hotel heeft een prachtig uitzicht over de zee, zeker vanaf het mooie zwembad. Kamermeubilair en badkamer toch wel veroudert en moeten echt geüpdatet worden, maar de kamers zijn netjes en schoon. Rondom het hotel moet het nodige onderhoud gebeuren, zeker aan het wegdek, maar alles oogt schoon. Veel trappetjes en hellingen, goed voor je conditietraining. Ontbijt is uitgebreid en gevarieerd, prima, ook het uitzicht vanaf het terras is schitterend. Het personeel is fantastisch, zo ontzettend attent en aardig, super! Wil je met de auto het eiland rondtrekken, is dit een toplocatie.

Firstly, one thing we all know from reading the reviews….yes there are a lot of steps/steep hills. It’s set into the side of a hill & it’s this that gives you the amazing views. Yes you’re going to be out of breath, but it’s good for you & burns off the excess calories from all that delicious Greek food. Now for the useful info that we found lacking prior to booking when we were researching: This hotel & area is quite ‘buggy’, so keep this in mind if this is a problem for you. We stayed in Skala at the same time last year & barely noticed any bugs. Our room here had a lot of mosquitos in it when we checked-in (& is clearly a general issue given the swatting stains on the walls from previous guests). Though once we cleared the room & put our plugs in, & made sure all windows & doors were kept closed, we didn’t really have a problem. Outside is a similar story, the gardens are beautiful but this brings with it lots of (big) wasps, ants, moths, bees etc. I’m telling you this not as a negative or to put you off, but just so you’re aware as I know for some people this would be a major worry. I’m pretty nervous of wasps & survived OK! The hotel is a 15 minute walk (at a decent pace) into the main village. Plenty of tavernas to choose from & a couple of nice cocktail bars. Cocktails 10-12 euros each which is on the pricy side for the island, in our experience anyway. More than enough choice locally for a week of doing something different each night & the scenery is just so beautiful. We failed to find a decent pina colada (no Captains bar or Akri here!!). We stayed in a villa with private pool, room was OK with kettle, nespresso machine, tv, minibar fridge (that got much colder once it was full), bath robes & brilliant air con. The bathroom is wet room type which I’m not a fan of, hate having a wet floor by the toilet. Not much storage space overall really, but we coped for a week. There’s a free safe in the room but it’s smaller than we’ve had before - for example we couldn’t get our normal sized iPad in it. We got some lovely toiletries in the room, good quality local ones which smelt amazing (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner), weirdly no hand soap so we used the body wash for washing hands…..I found this a bit odd. The toiletries weren’t replaced either, but reception provided more when we asked (mainly for something to wash hands with). The maids also weren’t great at topping up toilet roll etc so had to also ask at reception for that. No big deal, but can get a bit annoying having to ask for things like this, in a hotel of this standard anyway. The rooms are dated in style, but I think it’s supposed to be that way & everything was clean. Reviews before we went suggested this hotel was in dire need of a refurb, and we were close to booking somewhere else because of them. But as we so often find, it’s nowhere near as bad as people make out. There’s a certain charm about this place which will be lost if they make it a mass of modern glass & chrom

Beautiful romantic hotel, with stunning views, beautiful spacious rooms, lovely breakfast and bar area, with outdoor seating and views to die for. The pool is huge and always had sun beds available, pool towels are included. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Hotel posizionato in una posizione strategica dell'' isola per raggiungere tutte le spiagge. Si trova a meno di 10 minuti a piedi dal bellissimo paesino di Agia Effimia(molto ricco di taverne,bar e qualche negozietto). L' hotel offre una bellissima vista mare sulla baia racchiusa tra Sami ed Agia Effimia e si scorge anche l' isola di Itaca. Tutti i membri dello staff sono gentili e disponibili a rispondere ad ogni esigenza. La colazione è molto ricca e varia, sia con prodotti salati che dolci. Anche i piatti offerti per la cena sono molto invitanti. Ogni sera ci sono piatti diversi e i piatti tipici della cucina greca preparati dagli chef sono eccezionali. L' hotel dispone anche di due piscine, una piccolina con acqua molto bassa per i bambini di pochi anni, mentre l' altra grandissima con la profondità dell' acqua che aumenta gradualmente. Le camere sono molto spaziose dotate anche di un grandissimo balcone. La pulizia delle stanze è buona. Da segnalare anche la piccola spiaggetta di sassi posta appena sotto l' hotel, con acqua cristallina e tantissimi pesci da guardare sotto acqua. CONSIGLIATISSIMO

Die Lage und die Aussicht waren ein Traum !!! Die Zimmer sauber, das Personal stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr beeindruckt hat uns die Direktorin, die nicht nur auch perfekt Deutsch gesprochen hat, sondern mit ihrer sehr liebenswerten Art immer bemüht war die Wünsche ihrer Kunden zu erfüllen und bei Fragen bezüglich der Insel und der Umgebung zu helfen. Einfach nur top ! Ein Traumurlaub!

Lovely location. Very clean. Great views. Great workers. Plenty of good restraunts just a walk away. This place is good. The Staff make it Perfect. Young girl at pool bar is great worker and manages a smile even after working long hours. Thank you for a great holiday. Cheers Jonny & Tina.

Très beau hotel avec une vue magnifique. Petit déjeuner correct, le petit hic beaucoup d'abeille. La piscine est magnifique très grande. Les chambres sont belles avec une belle vue sur la mer et très spacieuse. L'accueil très sympathique et verre de bienvenue offert

Just returned from 7 days at KBP, There is no denying that the hotel has spectacular views from every room over the bay of Aghia Efimia. The staff were very friendly and helpful but sadly that does not make a hotel 4*. The hotel is in general need of a refurbishment especially the bathrooms and communal areas . The hotel lacks atmosphere and generally felt that it was running on Skeleton staff . When we arrived late at night we were greeted by the night porter who was very friendly but unable to assist us with our luggage as he had an arm injury, we were then advised that the lifts were not working and had to struggle up almost 200 steps with our suitcases. The Hotel was at high capacity during our stay as they had a wedding party also staying in the hotel , we found that the breakfast was poorly managed with a broken coffee machine , regularly ran out of produce , plates , glasses etc . As the hotel is built on a hillside we were very disappointed to find that there were no working toilets around the pool area and no working lifts. We are a group of fit & heathy 50 year olds but found the number of steps around the property very challenging especially in the midday heat. It could be an amazing hotel but sadly requires a great deal of TLC to bring it anywhere close to a 4* hotel.
