I made a reservation here through *******. I needed somewhere to spend the night after a 20 hour day of traveling involving canceled flights and delays. (I ultimately was rerouted to Philly but I live in CT, so I needed somewhere to stay). I had called hours earlier to confirm my reservation and to inform them of my late arrival and ask about an airport shuttle. They said they no longer have an airport shuttle and I would need to take a cab. They made no mention that they were overbooked. When my flight landed after midnight I took a cab to the hotel as instructed. I arrived at about 1:00 am. As soon as I walked in the employee at the front desk said “you’re going to be upset, we have your reservation but we have no rooms. You can call for a refund.” He also said, he had only arrived for work at 11pm and found out then. He then suggested I walk down the street to a different hotel and see if they had any vacancies. He didn’t call ahead and help me find somewhere else to stay. He didn’t call me a cab. He just sent me (a solo female traveler) into the streets at 1:00 am to wander and hope I found somewhere to stay at that hour. At a minimum, the hotel should have informed me immediately that my reservation was cancelled (which apparently happened at or before 11pm) to save me the time and money on the taxi, and allow me to safely find a room from the airport without wandering the streets desperately at 1am. Unacceptable. Avoid extended stay America and ******* at all costs.
