We were American citizens travelling on vacation throughout India. A suite at Aditya was booked much in advance for 3 occupants. The hotel looked decent on the outside and through the checking process we sensed the hotel staff unfriendly and unprofessional. There was a lot to in-talking among the front desk staff which we did not pay much heed to. We gave them our passports and visa for the check in process and to our horror were told that police verification of the Visa was required (which we had never heard of after having stayed at 5 star resorts in Kerala (Kannur, Munnar) Kanya Kumari, Jaipur, Udaipur, Ranthambore, Goa, Bangalore, Kashmir etc. After waiting exhausted and with travel fatigue for more than an hour in the reception and no police showed up we were then thrown off guard when we were told that 3 people could not stay in one room at the hotel since the 3rd occupant's last name was different. They wanted us to book a 2nd room for the 3rd person. We tried to make them understand that it was their responsibility to tell us when we booked the room weeks ahead that all the occupants' last name should match. There was no mention on the hotel website either of this rule. We did not want the hotel authorities to have the satisfaction of fleecing us for another room instead had the 3rd occupant stay with family nearby. Some of the Indian occupants in the hotel themselves were surprised and these rules and tried speaking to the hotel staff but to no avail. They were bent upon making some quick and easy money through dishonest means. Overall, we felt the hotel authorities were very dishonest, unprofessional, crooked and were determined to make a quick buck off of innocent unsuspecting travelers. The only reason we booked this hotel was because we had family and friends residing close by and it was for just 2 nights only. When we went to settle the bill on the last day we noticed that they had charged us for 3 people occupancy with extra bed for each night and would not change the bill. By then, we were so fed-up and disgusted we ended up paying the bill and get out of that hell. Trip Advisor should make a note of this and warn foreign travelers before booking in to this horrible hotel about their weird, unreasonable, stupid, senseless rules. Their main goal is not customer satisfaction instead to fleece travelers. Never in my wildest dreams will I ever entertain staying at this hotel.

Me and my colleague checked in to the hotel in the month of May. The hotel , including rooms and service is exceptional. Clean and tidy rooms at an affordable price. However, the receptionist is a horror to deal with. He is extremely rude , not at all helpful and caused a scene at the time of check in. He denied us check in saying he didn’t receive the booking and handled matters very chaotically post that. 5 stars for the hotel but no ratings for the customer service at check in .
