YHA青年旅館-特瑞亞爾儂(YHA Treyarnon Bay)

Have stayed in a lot of hostels in the UK and abroad and this has to be one of the best. Great location, great vibe, comfy beds, hot showers and lovely staff too. We were there during the recent storm but were treated to an amazing sunset the following night. Thanks for a great stay.

Treyarnon is one of our favourite places, and the Trey Bay hostel makes it even better. During our two night family trip in January the staff were friendly, the food was great and the cafe made a cosy place to hang out in the evenings with a log fire and great food - perfect to relax after a day walking the cliff path or scrambling over the rocks to visit the dragon's cave! This was our first youth hostel adventure,and we will be back - thank you!

Well done to all. Lovely friendly staff & great setting. Nice food after a fab afternoon at the beach. One of the best YHA destinations. Tasty meals & veggie options. My son had a pizza from the garden cabin. Excellent! Busy vibe in a stunning setting.

I paid £15 for a shared room, ended up getting the room to myself! The place was clean and tidy and the guy working (not sure of his name but was the only one working on 3/2/24) was a fantastic host. He couldn’t have made the stay any better. The location is also top drawer

We visited on December 29th and although it was busy I’ve been on far busier days and received better service. The poor guy behind the till was the only person there and so consequently was taking orders, making hot drinks, taking orders to tables and clearing tables. Every time he was making coffees etc there was absolutely no one else serving and so the entire queue ground to a halt. After queuing for 35 minutes and hearing that people were then waiting 30-40 minutes for their food and drinks we gave up and went elsewhere. It’s such a shame that it was so poorly staffed as I go to the TreyBay a lot and it’s always brilliant. We were really looking forward to eating there so were disappointed by the fact that we couldn’t. I’m not sure what the purpose of the girl was who wandered in and out every so often, she didn’t actually seem to do anything in the time that I was stood in the queue. I don’t blame the guy behind the till - he was in a difficult position - although he could’ve worked faster. Whoever was in charge just needed to rota on some more help, particularly over lunchtime when it was bound to be busier.

My wife and I have been here many times in the last decade and although the staff may change, the experience is always refreshingly persistent. This time a 2-day stay turned into 3 days and the staff were very helpful in making the room change required as easy as possible. You don't come here if you're expecting top-notch dining and your beds to be changed every day; this is a hostel and you can self-cater/camp or stay in a room/teepee/pod and have breakfast/lunch/dinner made for you by enthusiastic staff who work hard at providing a good level of service. They deserve to be treated with respect and patience, particularly during the busier (ie sunny) days and we have never been dissatisfied with our stays here. If I have one suggestion for the wider YHA organisation in general: The exterior of the building is probably due a bit of a makeover as it is now looking quite (understandably) weathered. The first impression you get as you head towards the car park is not of a treasured building! That, however, should not put anyone off stopping by on a day out, or a longer stay.

We visited whilst walking the coastal path. The coffee is excellent, and the staff are very friendly. The outside terrace has superb views of the ocean but it was too stormy to sit outside on this visit. On the plus side we were the only visitors on the Treyarnon beach on a Sunday in September !

Absolutely stunning location. Just grab a drink from the bar and head outside to the patio to soak in the incredible Cornish coastal breeze. Just that alone is worth the trip. The room itself is clean, good size. I booked an ensuite room which is on the ground floor. As expected, it’s basic no frills. But the sheets are white and crisp, the bathroom is big (I was given a disabled room), toilet is clean, shower is strong and hot, the only small complaint is there isn’t any counter space. But I can live with it! I also appreciate the staff on site who provided such friendly service. The bar and restaurant serve basic but decent food, which relatively speaking isn’t a “bargain”. I opted the full breakfast one morning which offered fried eggs, sausage, beans and the lot. But the following morning I decided to make use of the kitchen and cooked myself a nice breakfast. I hated leaving and will come back for sure.

What a place! We just spent a fantastic couple of days here and what an incredible location. Right on the sea with some huge crashing waves to watch from the windows. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. My partner has lots of food intolerances and can often feel awkward asking for the various allergen info he needs but they went the extra mile to let us know everything he could have. We will definitely be back!!!
