「The hotel is in a very picturesque location, overlooking a lake. The bedrooms are large, with comfortable beds and prices for a stay are very reasonable. Having said that, the completely uncalled for surly, unfriendly and distinctly unhelpful of one member of staff at reception when we returned to the hotel after going to the Newton Abbot races soured the overnight stay for our group of 7. Firstly, after serving drinks to two members of our group, who arrived at the hotel ahead of the rest of us, he didn't allow them to take the drinks outside to a veranda area so they could have a smoke and could provide no good reason for refusing the polite request. Secondly, when the rest of us arrived at the hotel at around 11.30pm the bar was shut and he refused to serve us any drinks, even though we asked politely, merely wanting one more drink before going to bed. He was also curt, rude and distinctly unhelpful when we asked him to point us in the direction of our rooms, giving one word answers and seeming to regard us all as a hindrance to him. All in all, this experience made us regret our choice of hotel and we are disinclined to return to the hotel in future. A further gripe was that the breakfast service was poor and slow, with cooked breakfasts taking 25 minutes to arrive and many key items missing and not replenished unless guests specifically asked, including cups, tea bags, sugar and orange juice,」

「晚上7點多到達酒店，訂了兩間房，告訴衹有一間，且滿房，經多重協調，酒店在一個小時以後騰挪出來一間，經理帶到屋裡時解釋説是agent在他們系統上訂了不知道為什麼他們系統又取消了，酒店並沒有實質性上對我們做任何補償。 第二天一早，由於很晚才入住房間，跟前台兩次要求才從11點延遲到12點退房。 更甚，check out時告訴我 需要全款再付第二間我已經在攜程上付過的房費，否則不能走。 早餐及其難吃且幾乎沒有什麼可以選擇的，對於接近5000一晚的房費 我簡直無話可説。 現在多付的房費還沒有退還給我。 另到酒店的路很窄 需要小心駕駛」

「Beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous building. Staff were exceptionally polite, helpful & well trained. Food was excellent evening meal and breakfast. We used the Spa facilities which were as good as any we’ve been to. Will come back when working this way in the next few weeks.」
