尤蒂卡戴斯飯店(Days Inn by Wyndham Utica)

The front desk associate was very nice when we checked in and showed us exactly where our room was. I believe it was him that had to tell the occupants in the next room to quiet down as I had 2 small children listening and hearing things they shouldn't. The extra latch for the door was so damaged that it was pretty much useless. Was sad that there was no refrigerator.

For a no-frills hotel, the positives were; Clean rooms, large bathroom, very comfortable mattress, size of room, good coffee in the morning and ease of check in and check out. My only complaints are that I paid for a room with two Queen beds (for a reason) and got a room with two double beds (we checked in at 11pm....no time to request a room change as the front desk person was leaving for the day). The pillows were very uncomfortable. Otherwise, it was perfectly fine for the 12 hours we were there.

Room is super small though clean. Direct TV was affected by clouds. Staff unwilling to help fix. Staff unwilling to make any concession. Clientel shady at best. We left no refund. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across the street. They understand how to treat people.

It is dishonest in my opinion to charge a pet fee that is not disclosed in advance. The customer cannot make an informed choice because you are not comparing apples to apples. We were charged a $20 fee at check in even though I searched all the terms before booking. Had I known I may have chosen a different hotel. Price was a determining factor in choosing this hotel. Not nice and made me mad.

Building/infrastructure is old and poor condition. Window AC that needs to constantly run even though the outdoor temp never went above 80 during our stay. Close the room door and you can see the light from the hallway all the way around (and clearly hear every conversation anyone has). Checked in late and stood at the desk for 5 minutes while the staff was busy - or so I thought, he was actually doing something on his phone. Checked out at 7am and the staff member was half asleep. Expected much better for the cost.

The front desk agent was on FaceTime with someone when I arrived and was talking to them in the middle of trying to check me in. There were also a group of men bbqing and drinking in the parking lot that had propped the secure door to the hallway open so anyone could go in and out. They were obnoxious all night. The door to the rooms didn’t match the frames either so there is a metal piece bolted to the top of the door to cover the gap. My room smelled awful, like some sort of chemical. The bed was comfortable and that was about the best part of the whole experience.

Check in was bizarre. It was very late and the night desk gal was face timing with a guy and playing loud video game at same time. She put game console down reluctantly but left volume high while checking me in, and continued to chat with friend on phone.

We were in town for the boilermaker race and they let us check out a little later and breakfast was a little earlier to accommodate the racers. It was so nice of them. Rooms were a little out dated but we didn’t care it- because they were clean, beds were comfy, and staff were very polite. We stay there again.

This place sucks. It's rundown, has a funny smell to it and doesn't have many redeeming qualities. The rooms are gross and there is no mini-fridge, but there is a giant armoire. Even the price sucks; around $150 a night for hellishness. Good for a crash pad, but that's about it.
