這酒店管理很多問題,當天早上取房,沒有即時通知要加收半天房费,到第二日才知道。酒店上網速度不快,時有断線,令人苦惱!會議室開會時才知道壞機,查看一下更令人震驚,隔塵網全是封麈,從未清潔。同事房間有蚊有蟑螂!酒店员工很少主動打招呼及缺乏熱情,都係我主動提出問好,由此反映出酒店管理不善! We had a business trip to Nairobi during the period from 7 April to 13 April 2024. We chose to stay in Fairmont the Norfolk for the whole trip. I arrived in the morning about 8:00 am on 7 April because of the flight schedule. I got checked in and was told nothing about the additional charges of USD110,0 for my early checkin until the other day. If the front desk had notified me about the charges, I would have not checked in at that time. I would have stayed in the hotel lobby or airport lounge for some hours. It was a poor tactic to charge additional fees without the immediate notification and mutual agreement in the first place. On arrival, the first thing to do was to login the WiFi connection. It was just a simple procedure to login but the capacity for the WiFi was very disappointing. The WiFi had been on and off all the time during my stay. This caused a very unpleasant and embarrassing experience for me when using the internet for personal and business communications. I wonder why a highly rated hotel would have this kind of poor internet connection capability. For the coming days, my colleagues and I encountered more unpleasant experiences, e.g. malfunction of air conditioning in the meeting room, highly polluted and dirty filters in the air conditioner, mosquitoes and cockroaches in the rooms and so on. The staff in the hotel were not very positive and friendly at all. Usually I had to initiate the greetings first. I think more proper training should be strengthened for this. The above showed that the management had a big problem. They still stayed at the old ages and not up to the latest standards of services and care for guests. They are seriously behind the average quality of hospitality. To say the truth, the environment of the hotel is good. It is of the historical value. However the management and protocol (software) cannot match up with the hardware. I trust this review can help the hotel to improve. Dr Mansum Lee
