阿蘭德飯店(The Alander)

The owners did a great job giving the hotel a modern flair. Its location was convenient for us: near the cute town of Millerton, close by the Hillrock Distillery where we had a tour and tasting, and a 30 minute drive to Hudson. We also had dinner at the hotel’s on-site restaurant, North Star, which was a lifesaver after a full day of traveling. There’s not much in Copake but we did have breakfast at Dad’s Diner nearby where all the locals go to.

I’ll start with the cons here: Cons - it’s a motel. Nice room, but still a motel. No facilities at all. No staff on site, none, zero. It needs to advertise itself as such, and not mislead. Pros - nice room. Very spacious. Nicely equipped.

What a gem! Great value, too! My husband and I recently snagged a last-minute vacancy at this stylish glammed-up lodge and it proved to be the perfect base for a getaway weekend! We loved our room, an oversized king facing the courtyard. Great decor. Lots of little luxe touches: Thick towels, good sheets, great mattress, huge rainfall shower head, in-room French press carafe and high-end coffee. Co-owner Reid was on-site and very helpful -- gave us good tips on local sights and restaurants. We enjoyed finishing off our evening sitting around the firepit in the courtyard, looking at the stars and enjoying some locally crafted whisky we picked up at a nearby liquor store. We enjoyed beautiful views, a great dinner at the Pond, lovely stroll to the Bish Bash falls, antiquing in Millerton -- and lots and lots of farmstands. A picture-perfect fall weekend in the Berkshires. We can't wait to return and check out the new restaurant the owners are working to open on-site. (Until then, the only food options at the motel are good-quality, reasonably priced room snacks -- including s'more fixings! but there are solid food options nearby, ranging from a diner and deli to nicer sitdown restaurants. ) I can't say enough good things about the Alander. The owners are building something very special here. Highly recommend!!

Location worked great for us! Got a run in on near by rails to trails path. Super easy remote check-in. Room was perfect for us - 2 beds comfy, well appointed, and quiet. French press and kettle worked great.

The Alander is so cute. Our room was fantastic. Reid, the owner, is super attentive. The rooms are kind of modern rustic, great furnishings, a full snack bar (you pay via Venmo), gas fire pits (it rained the night we were here but got a chance to sit for a minute), super peaceful and just an overall lovely experience.

Room was large, clean and comfortable. Courtyard area with a gas fire pit was nice. Front undergoing renovation so the view from the road does not represent the facility overall. Snacks in room are nice but are not free. Great communication.

The Alander was perfect! It's a very cute, relaxing, and clean hotel. The owners were wonderful and very friendly.

The room is in excelent condition so beautiful decoration. Love it!! and all the exterior.

Love the idea of a modern room but it isn’t perfected yet. The wifi is always having issues and there is not much hot water in the showers which is a shame because the showers are really nice.
