The Royal Harbour Resort (RHR), needs a refresh that should start with the rooms, WiFi service and better separtaion of the pool from the main lobby area. The rooms are dated with the bathrooms looking like something from the 80's. The furniture just looks old, but the bed was very comfortable and had a fresh feel to it. A+ for the bed, but C- for the furniture and room colours. The WiFi was completely unacceptable. In our first floor room the WiFi was so weak that you could only browse something on your tablet or phone if you sat at the entrance from the the hallway. Move a few steps from the doorway and the signal was too weak to actually download pictures or images on a simple email. Move to the living room area or bedroom area of the studio suite and there was no WiFi signal.
Finally the pool... the stink from it filled the front lobby the minute you walked in from outside and the hallway all the way down to our room.
I was hoping to use the suites at this hotel as a place for my six ski buddies and myself to stay this winter on our weekly ski outings to the Blue Mountain resorts but that won't be happening. Most disappointing.
Certainly didn't live up to the beautiful view out the front door of the Thornbury harbour marine and Georgian Bay.
