Ravissant petit hôtel typiquement anglais dans le quartier de South Kensington. Service efficace et raffiné. Le restaurant donne sur un très joli petit jardin. Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

Travelling alone, I feel safe here, and so well cared for. When I come to work in London for a couple of days this is home. I love the snug but perfectly formed single rooms, I love the dinner choices, I love the breakfast, but most of all I feel totally cared for by the staff, who remember personal details, who will do anything to help. Particular thanks to Roland the concierge for working so hard to find me at I. Thanks to all. I look forward already to my autumn trip.

We chose this hotel due to its star rating and the aesthetics of the building and accommodation. This was a special trip to celebrate a milestone birthday and we wanted a luxurious treat and the hotel delivered in almost every way. This being a high end mid sized boutique hotel in London's Knightsbridge, we interacted with most of the staff and the service was impeccable, courteous, professional and polite....top marks! The rooms we had (queen sized beds) were located in what would have been the attic space, so were compact but cozy, with a vaulted ceiling, beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and quality linen, the beds were changed daily. One slight negative was that the bathrooms were tiny! The door way was narrow and the door would only partially open due to a bath robe hung on the back and a door stop restricting access, you literally have to walk in side ways to enter which was a bit awkward, however I'm sure there are other rooms with larger bathrooms, so you should enquire about this when booking. There was a full size basin right next to the toilet and to sit at the toilet was awkward, you literally had your legs under the sink. Space is severely restricted and a smaller basin would have been a better design choice, however these bathrooms were nicely finished, spotlessly clean with quality products and fluffy towels. Our rooms were on the top (3rd) floor. There are multiple stair cases and a small lift for access, however the lift only goes as far as the 2nd floor and the 3rd floor is reached by a narrow steep stair case, so anyone with mobility issues may find this a struggle to navigate and should request a room on a lower floor. We had breakfast in the breakfast room, which was pleasantly decorated with a quirky edge (as are the public areas) the breakfast room looks out onto a small walled terrace garden, where weather permitting you can dine alfresco or enjoy a drink. Unfortunately the breakfast service was were we had a few issues. There appeared to be only one waiter on hand and the room was virtually full which resulted in very slow service. We ordered our food and when it eventually arrived, the food was cold, as were the plates and both our eggs had been over cooked and were hard, not what you'd expect at a 5 star hotel at this price point. We sent the plates back to be re-done and in due course they returned, the food was fresher/ warmer and the eggs were fine, but the plates were still stone cold! We decided to breakfast elsewhere after that experience. We noticed other guests were having the same issues with the slow service and getting very frustrated, which given the service elsewhere had been exemplary was very disappointing. To be fair to the hotel, when we were preparing to check out, they asked us for feedback on our stay and we mentioned the issues at breakfast, and when we finally checked out, they had removed the breakfast charges and also the charge for a couple of drinks we had had the

Well located in South Kensington, a cute and comfortable hotel. Each room is decorated differently. Also has a cosy library and "living room" to hang out in. The bathroom is tiny but that's understandable considering it's London based. The toiletries are outstanding - high quality and fragrant. Very attentive and friendly service.

Everything I need for a business stay in Kensington. Single rooms (how rare is that?) that have absolutely everything needed, and are so so stylish, comfy bed, beautiful bed-linen,heavy curtains, pretty city view, excellent shower. Breakfast is perfect, and the one dinner I ate there also perfect, interesting menu, well cooked. But of course, a hotel can only be as good as its staff, and the staff here are glorious; helpful, kind, attentive. Travelling alone, I feel safe and cosseted here. I have stayed here several times before; the standard never falters. Many thanks.

I am a loyal Kit Kemp fan and always stayed at her hotels in London and New York. I love her creative decor. Colorful and fascinating detail. However our last stay at Number 16 was very disappointing. The hotel looked tired. The attention to detail was missing ( lamp shades in main rooms crooked..etc) It felt a bit neglected ( which is unusual Fr her hotels). Staff was less than enthusiastic. Receptionists uninterested. I don’t know if all the rooms hv an issue this being an old brownstone but the noisy bathroom when you turn on the lights is bothersome. Breakfast service was lacking. Staff service was shabby. The food was mediocre. I was very surprised as it’s not the usual standard of Kit Kemp hotels. Post pandemic perhaps? Hard to find the charming staff I was used to at the Hamyard - one of her other hotels. Also rooms lacked the fresh feel. Our room had an old armoire ( which could be charming) but this one felt out of context. I do not like this hotel nor the service level. Not the food. Not the rooms. The hotel could use change … please note that this hotel has no private nooks. All open spaces are constantly being used by staff’s comings and goings. ( in this case and during the week we stayed there I would say they were lazily coming and going hesitantly doing not that much! ). Sad and disappointed.

Lovely staff and brilliant bed! Very comfortable with good choices for breakfast - hot food is cooked to order. Can’t fault it! Well located for public transport and very quiet, you wouldn’t know you were in central London

The employees at No16 creates a great atmosphere. Like being at home. Sitting in the nice living rooms, having a glass of Champagne from the Honesty Bar, eating a delicious breakfast in the garden. What more can you ask for?

Amazing stay, attentive staff and our first trip with our little girl. They treated her wonderfully and would highly recommend
