Our recent stay at the Hampton Inn Kinston location was unacceptable for the price-point. The nightly rate was double what we paid for a previous night at the neighboring Quality Inn Kinston Hwy 70; where our stay was infinitely cleaner and overall more comfortable. There was trash left out in the hallway. The elevators did not reliably work, we were convinced we would be trapped in the elevator at any point. I specifically booked the king suite with a sofa bed, unfortunately the sofa bed was clearly dirty with coins, hair, and dirt, in addition to the mattress being stained. My father and I were forced to share the king bed. The bathroom curtain rod was bent, so the shower curtain didn't sit correctly and let water out all over the floor. The bathroom exhaust fan didn't work and let condensation build up on the counter and clothing. The king mattress was the least comfortable I've slept on in my life. When we requested a new room, we were informed there were no other rooms available but maintenance was available to fix any emergent needs. I will never go back.
