First the positives: Excellent location for access to downtown Keene shops and restaurants, the building is an interesting historical structure, the water was plenty hot with good pressure, and the in-room coffee maker was a keurig (so we could substitute our own flavors, which we bought nearby). That said, those few positives were far outweighed by the negatives: The room was dated, in rough shape and not very clean; the mattress was horrible; the towels were paper thin; the room-darkening drapes had holes and didn’t close; our room overlooked Main Street which is NOISY until well after midnight (post-bar revealers, and so many Harleys going by!); the walls and ceilings are thin; the HVAC is quirky and noisy; and the single very small elevator is glacially slow (the staircases are only on the outside of the building, not for floor-to-floor access). We will stay elsewhere if our travels take us to the area again.
