Deeply Disappointing Experience. I recently booked The Gallery House in Port Renfrew with the anticipation of a relaxing and comfortable stay. However, our experience turned out to be anything but. Upon arrival, we found the property to be in a state of disrepair and neglect. The couches were old and visibly worn, the floors were unpleasantly sticky, and the balcony chairs were dirty. The overall state of the property was not in line with the images and descriptions presented online, which led to a significant discrepancy between our expectations and the reality. The condition of the property compelled us to leave shortly after arrival, and when we communicated this to the owner and property manager, our concerns were not adequately addressed. They offered a stay in the property next door. But that property was in a similar state. Their refusal to issue any form of refund added insult to injury. We were at the property for a very brief period of about 15-20 minutes, only long enough to assess the unsatisfactory conditions. Despite this, we were still held financially responsible for a stay that we did not, and could not, enjoy due to the property's state. I would urge prospective guests to reconsider booking The Gallery House. It's crucial that accommodation providers uphold their promises and commi**ents to guests. Transparency, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction should be paramount, and it's regrettable that our experience at this property fell far short of these standards. I hope sharing our experience can help others make informed decisions when choosing their accommodation in Port Renfrew.
