Wingate Houston Near NRG Park/Medical Center

I rated this place average because it's exactly that. We stayed here because we went to a football game at NRG stadium and for that, it was perfect. Easy walking distance and parking is included on site. The place is older but it was clean and inexpensive. Kind of a sketchy neighbor hood though as one of the guests truck was broken into while we were at the game. Security does not patrol the parking lot apparently and I do not know how common a problem this is at this particular place.

This is an old hotel. 7 foot ceilings in the hallways and a slow elevator that made foreboding sounds gave a clear warning this would not be a nice stay. The rooms luckily had 8 foot ceilings, but that did not make up for the old/rickety tubs and the sloppy paint jobs on the walls. Inadequate lighting in the rooms. The full size beds were comfortable but not very good sized. The only consistent positive was that the air conditioning was cold and comfortable, though the fan / blower was loud. Also in the lobby the breakfast was really pretty bad - one pastry option, the hot food looked bad, and no decaf coffee (and no to-go coffee lids). Additionally, there was a constant high pitched beeping going on at the front desk due to a security system issue. The front desk staff would press a button to stop it and then it would start again, 1-2 minutes later. That was going on both days I was there. Overall, pretty disappointing and I don't know how I missed how bad this hotel was going to be.

The elevator is out of a horror movie, old, dirty and very slow. The carpet was very old and smelly. The AC doesn’t work properly in the rooms and lobby, no ac in any of the common areas. The whole place is hot and muggy. The toilet didn’t flush properly and the towels were very old and rough. The swimming pool was dirty and moldy. It was a horrible overall experience!

Piden un deposito de $100 dlls que en ninguna parte dice eso y no es reembolsable hasta 7 dias habiles , cobran como un hotel y parece mas motel, esta sucio , el elevador esta muy ruidoso , alfombras viejas y sucias solo recomendable si vas a ir un evento al estadio

We had to switch rooms after 1 night. 2nd room has just as bad, we just ****** it up. Rooms are an “F”! Only thing good about this hotel is how close it is the NRG Stadium… we will never stay here again!

Had to change rooms because a she did not work. Remote control did not work toilet did not flush properly. Then the room they moved us to was next to a noisy elevator. The elevator was extremely small, and made a lot of noise.

My only complaints really would be the water pressure in the shower, the inability to open the back window/door to what looked like a balcony, and that the shower head was pretty low. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I'd certainly stay again without hesitation.

Check in staff and housekeeping were outstanding. Courteous, friendly and helpful Pool not clean. Building needs some updates. Rooms were clean . Good place to stay.

No cuentan con suficiente personal para atención ya que cuando se hizo la limpieza de cuarto no dejaron toallas ni shampoo y se les llamó y tardaron más de 3 horas para ir al cuarto Aparte el clima no enfriaba lo suficiente
